You didn't list it here, but since it's among your list of "read so far" in 2007, I thought I'd mention that I liked Barry Hughart's "Bridge of Birds" very much, too.

All three of the Master Li and Number Ten Ox books are so very, very good!

I will be mentioning them ... just have to find the time.
