I liked his book "My Life with his Saints", especially his saints in the sock drawer. I would certainly recommend his book though I have a few quibbles such as his mentioning how obedient he is by not bringing up some topics in his book. Though this did not surprise me since even has he has recently written about Pope Benedict "I was one of those (many) liberal Catholics who was disappointed by his election." This did not get in the way of the book and I do love his writing.

I also listen to him when he is on the American Magazine podcast.
