I knew it!!! No posts for 2 weeks but I knew tennis would get him out! Nothing gets Bobo fired up quite like tennis and AK and the boys. Just messing with you....kind of. I could care less about tennis but we did get royally screwed.

Any thoughts on giving Buck another crack at the SEC rotation? Irwin has been tough luck (he must be seeing Ferguson's girlfriend) but also has not looked that sharp.

I think Barret is one more outing away from being a weekend starter.

The day that Barrett starts on the weekend is the day I will not be at Swayze Field.

This late in the season, where each game is so important, we can't afford to "experiment" with working Barrett into the weekend rotation. I know that we are going to need all the arms we can get come tournament time but I think you leave him in the pen and use him as a middle relief guy. He has looked a lot better as of late, but he needed to get a start in a few midweek games before putting him in the weekend rotation. Unfortunately we are out of midweek games after this week.

It would have been smart to pitch Buck last night against USM (who was successful in his previous outing against USM), and then throw Barrett today against UAPB. But I'm not the ball coach...

I thought Barret was going to get the start today too. Irwin has to be out of the rotation by postseason play. He has a 7.15 ERAhis last 3 starts. He fills the zone up and has done an admirable job so far but he just doesn't have very good stuff. Regardless of what Barrett did prior in the year, you can't keep a guy that talented on the bench all year. If he is on, he has the stuff to dominate. Buckvich and Irwin can eat up some innings but they are never going to be able to shut down top caliber teams. Baker has great stuff, will get drafted in the middle rounds this year, but is a mental midget and can't put it together. Watching him throw bullpen, he should be an ALL SEC weekend starter. He just doesn't have the it factor.

I'm not advocating putting Barrett in the rotation just yet. But I am telling you, Phillip Irwin has no chance of holding down a real good team for long with his avg fastball and loopy curveball. I would rather have Baker or Barrett on the mound in a do or die game than Irwin.

I hate Baker. Good arm. I have to wonder if the DM missed up when they said a "bitch" hit USM. Did they really mean pitch, or were the editors taking a swipe at Baker's cajones....

go about halfway down. the clowns might eventually fix it, but for now, it still reads as described above

Ueltschey-

Don't do that.

I'm sure Sidney came with a price tag. That is just the nature of college basketball so I'm not knocking $tan$ for it. I actually applaud his ability to play the game.

this team starts to unravel today. wait and see....

You have such a good feel for the team. Nostradamus fails again.

Rebuttal anyone?

Please stop posting using my user name. Thanks you.

i guarantee that there are hundreds of coaches that would be willing to at least sign him, and then look closer and make sure he is all clear, which is what we will do. usc has plenty of their own problems to deal with. byrne, stans, and the compliance guys will make sure that everything is all square before he steps on campus. do i think we will get in trouble over anything dealing with him? no. the ncaa will be looking at the situation very closely and no one is dumb enough not to do their homework on him first. i bet if he called up calipari and said he wanted to come to kentucky, they would sign him and then see what the deal is before he enrolls. plus, it looks like we have a backup plan in john riek.

you would have thought that greg called me himself for advice. just saw this. http://www.clarionledger.com/ app...arionledger.com

Sorry Johnny, I missed your idiocy so much that I just predicted what I thought you would say. I figured you had hung yourself by now since we are playing so well.

The article is an indictment of Sidney, not Stansbury or MSU. Considering the NCAA exposure Sidney will surely bring, I think Byrne and MSU are smart to hire someone to make sure they dot all the I's and cross all the T's.

And the beauty of the whole Sidney deal is his lawyer is none other than the great Don Jackson. The same Don Jackson who fought the good fight for Jerrell Powe. Can't wait to see the hypocrisy come out from both MSU and OM fans.

Is the Snead interview with Herbstreit on the 10pm Sportscenter tonight???

I love Powe and think Sindey's dad is a crook. Bad place for Sidney to be in but he will play and it will be painlful for us.

Pat Forde doesn't like $tan$.

Jason: Thanks for writing. If you want names, I'll give you a few names: Vernon Goodridge, Jamont Gordon, Walter Sharpe, Gary Ervin ... those were players he got. If you want one he came out of nowhere and nearly got, go ask the guys in New York City about his recruitment of Quincy Douby.

Don't think I made this stuff up out of nowhere. I've done a lot of homework on Mississippi State's recruiting over the years and talked to a lot of coaches around the South and around the country who are not big fans of Rick Stansbury. As for Sidney: he throws a lavish party to announce his commitment to USC -- and he's lived in Los Angeles for three years, not three months -- then suddenly he's going to Mississippi Sate? And if USC and UCLA pulled out, shouldn't Miss State have the same concerns?

Pat Forde

Nice.

its kind of like the player who gets booed on the road. that means youre good, b/c no one cares about you if you suck.

"Stansbury has never been charged with or found guilty of any NCAA violations in 10 years on the job in Starkville -- but he has rankled his peers on occasion by swooping in seemingly out of left field to sign players."

When State won the SEC and the coaches didn't vote Stans coach of the year, i think that told us all what they think of him.

vomit.
