Jeff
I actually threw a bone last night at the strip club but it wasnt a sales call but rather an offer. i offered two bones and then i was told i needed two more arms.
AJ,
Its great to see someone that speaks what we could speak, but somehow we cant speak that. you know how it goes.

A number of these got the proverbial "LOL":
-First and foremost, the fact that "bohunk" is still part of the everyday vernacular in our state...
-I hadn't seen that one about the bear...but out here on the west side, we're all mountain lion slayings:
http://www.starherald.com/site/
n...newsid=19274862
-I think my wife may have permanently deformed the finger that bears her wedding ring...all for the sake of playing catch with me last fall in the back yard. Does she have a stronger arm than Keller? Not quite. Better throwing motion? Most definitely!
-Nothing will ever excuse a 5 TD loss to a pitiful program like Mizzou...but you've heard of "style points"? The youtube of Daniel you've referenced is an example of "lack of style" points.
-I will stick with the remaining 22% minority who run upstream, against the notion that Larry the Cable guy is in any way cool, funny or a likable personality that we'd want associated with our beloved Huskers. Bring on David Cross as the Husker's unofficial celeb presence:
http://www.bobanddavid.com/2007/
...rry_the_ca.html
-Sticking with the 22% minority theme here...not only did we not play Sirius for our wedding party introductions (I personally can't stand that unoriginal, lame-ass Alan Parsons, Chicago Bulls-ripoff, NY Yankees-ripoff, about-half-the-professional-teams-that-take-any-
given-field/court-ripoff) we stuck with Pantera...

(Coincidentally, "Walk" is the only tune befitting a tunnel walk out here in 21 county):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q...h?
v=QrK1HpzGTIE
-In the fall of 2003, I utilized an ESPN inter-office email list that I was part of to get mark may's personal email and send him a scathing critique of his on-air performance...needless to say, this ruffled some feathers and I was taken off the list thereafter. But well worth the burnt bridge, I'd say. (At least it puts me back in the majority on this one!)
-Edie George...sigh...you just had to bring it up!
It's just nice to see that the delusional belief in the state religion of Nebraska is back, baby!
Oh, for whatever it's worth, all I have to add is that I heard 78% of Nebraskan's still think that AJ's mean-spirited and full of shit.
I now think of AJ as filling Daniel Day-Lewis' latest role:
"...I'd like you to say: 'I am a false prophet and God is a superstition'..."
Yeah, AJ, keep beating us over the head with that bowling pin and maybe eventually you'll get your point across (whatever it may be...oh yeah, I remember--we're all a bunch of simpleton dumbfucks who aren't worthy of your extensive intellect...based entirely on how keen you are on how shitty our team has been the last few years.) I guess AJ's just bent about the years and years of drainage...Grant & Tracey Wistrom, Mike Rucker, Steve Warren, Tom Banderas, Bruce Pickens, Dan Alexander...we've been drinking his milkshake for

Glad you enjoyed it DT. You should have seen some of the ones that didn't make the cut. Brutal.
BTW, I'm still laughing as I imagine the hubbub over the Mark May email.

Do they give Pulitzer's for comments on blog posts? (Is there a difference between blogs and comments? Like Costas I'm still confused here.)
If so, I nominate DT. He was already the professor emeritus of Melvillian Nebraska comments but this one was probably his best work.
Well done, sir.

Bob- you're awesome. An idea for you, send us all your original material and we can cut and paste them. Im sure we'll be yawning at the ideas you have and I'm sure they are much more worthy than this blog website that you read. Do us one favor though... never say the word Geez again.

You know, I suppose since that Buzz Bissinger flap everyone's sort of had to look inward and ask themselves what the hell we're all doing wasting our time here anyway?!

(Tongue planted firmly in cheek there.)
But if the lines have been that badly blurred, I'll come down on the side of commenters like myself (who utilize such to prattle on from time to time, whenever the mood strikes) just being blog-contributers that are too lazy to actually do it...at least that's how I tend to think of myself, usually. We play to a pretty niche demo, to say the least. But in any event, I'll can still at least try to accept all accolades and fawning (as well as any anointed titles) with all due graciousness & appreciation...
After a few previous herculean comment efforts, Jeffie and Sammy V have even been kind enough to suggest my doing a guest spot here sometime, but I'm too damn lazy to even get that together! I guess I just like to always be lurking around, knowing if I want to spout off, I've got that outlet available...but not being beholden to ALWAYS having to come up with something on a fairly-regular basis. I like the freedom of not having that on my plate. Most all the bloggers have a post going on any given subject I'd find of interest in discussing at any given time anyway. If one person engages you in discussion and it goes wherever it goes, great. At the very least, I know that the guy doing the blogging is usually gonna read it and will typically reply with a little something to acknowledge the ten or fifteen minutes worth of diatribe I put in every now and then. Even if everyone tells you to go to hell, well, that's fine too...at least you got it off your chest. But mostly that doesn't happen because it's free of the groupthink that you find on the bbs. I think there's a band of us out here that admire bloggers and the work they churn out and just like to chip in what little we can when we find the time.
But yeah, oftentimes being even the Joseph Pulitzer of blog commenters still feels more like getting on the ham radio and just shouting out there into the nothingness...

Ah Sammy...no worries! Just being considered as the Herman Melville of DXP commenters is all I can really ask for! I've got a video that I've got to stop dragging my feet and get to work on...If I ever get that done, I'm sure I'll get a little pub from most quadrants of the NU Blogosphere.
