Buckhalter might have been the most underappreciated player Ive ever seen at Nebraska.

For no breakaway speed, webble & wobble, they look pretty good to me. Looks like they were rumbling through powerhouses like Texas as well. Maybe things weren't so bad then. Who needs speed, when you average 400 yards rushing a game. I'll take that over the last 4 years any day.

Um, keep in mind those were highlights. Buckhalter's goalline fumble in the 4th quarter against UT in 1999 cost us a shot at a national title.

Good to see my memory isn't totally shot...as even in a three-minute rip of "highlights", Buckhalter still gets caught from behind and dragged down at the two about three separate times...
If you had about 10 more shots of him being tackled from behind & combined them with a dozen shots of Alexander either:
a-fumbling
(or)
b-inexplicably tripping over his own feet
you'd have a true representation of what it was like to be a watcher of Husker I-backs from 98-2000.
The thing that bugs me about those Husker Highlight reels (that he took the original footage from) are the little captions at the bottom ("Alexander runs wild!") that run for the duration of the whole play.
Talk about totally demeaning your target audience...Anybody who bought that video is gonna know that's Dan Alexander and about half of them are gonna remember that exact play. Plus, it makes the whole thing totally useless to amateur video pirates like myself...who prefer clean video without "Buckhalter on the option" slapped up over a piece of video where it's already completely obvious that Correll Buckhalter is taking the pitch on an option play.

Either of these guys were ten times the athlete I could ever be, but dang, it was disappointing to see the Danimal tangle and lose his legs and then go down like a gutter ball along the right sideline. Time and again.
