I was at the park for that Galarraga homer, too, and I'll never forget it. The noise that thing made when it came off his bat sounded like nothing I've heard before or since. You immediately knew that ball was tagged. The place buzzed for more than an inning afterward. Just amazing.
Yeah, the sound was unbelievable. I'm glad you reminded me of it.
Even out in the bleachers, that crack of the bat cut through all other sounds, and stopped all voices for a second or two.
