What makes me mad is the people who say I told you so. You told me nothing! As you listed above, absolutely nothing has gone according to plan.
I never dreamed Schmidt would be solid at best, Tomko would be a caricature of himself, Noah would explode, and Williams would be in the minors. Even Reuter has been performing on the lower end of already low expectations.
On the plus side, the historically bad start by the starters at least leaves room for improvement, no?

By the starting pitchers, you mean? God, I sure hope so. Schmidt's complete flameout yesterday has increased suspicions that his arm is about to fall off. He does have a history of arm troubles, and he was used a lot last year.
It is very reasonable to expect the other starting pitchers to improve, but I have a bad feeling that the worst is yet to come for Schmidt.

As of Tues., May 11, the Giants are 16-15, which feels pretty good unless you realize that they are 9-1 against the Rockies/Pirates and 6-15 against teams with winning records.
