I made cakes like these New Year's Eve and they turned out wonderfully. I used a Ghirardelli recipe that was an ad in Gourmet or Bon Appetit.

Kelly: Thanks for the link. I think that's the exact kind of recipe I need to make this dessert a success, so I'll give it a try this weekend!
sizzle: Don't think for a second I didn't bring one of those cakes to work with me this morning. I'll try to resist eating it until after lunch, but no guarantees.

Great pics even though they didn't come out how you wanted. My baking attempts always suck on the first try unless I use a box mix that only calls for eggs and oil! I'm excited to read how the dinner turns out!!!!!!

Dang it! How I love molten chocolate cakes. BA never does me wrong, so that's too bad about the recipe. Try again? And mail me one?
