Hi Rhonda, it may be a good idea to check your water pressure. If it is over 100 psig you may want to consider a pressure reducer. Your blog brings back fond memories of when I couldn't afford to hire plumers. Give me a call if you need help -

Rhonda, some plumbers have pressure guages that will screw onto an outside hydrant. You might try that.
