I've read at least 67 of these - but I haven't even heard of several of the ones I haven't read! It seems like a weird list - who compiled it, and what (if any) standard did they use?

I'm not going to do the Meme, because the gap in my literary education is embarrassing... but I have read "Love in the time of Cholera" -- and, you really should skip it -- it was terrible.... and mostly about a young woman being stalked by an older man. The only reason I finished it was because I wanted to see if it got better.

I think it's the top 100 or so books that users on LibraryThing tagged as "unread." So nothing authoritative--just a group of people, using the same cataloguing software, all of whom apparently own but never read these books.
