Gravatar Crazy! I just clicked over to your blog because I thought I hadn't seen a post from you in a while, and zing! there you are with your beeeautiful pentagon sweater. You completely masterminded and MacGuyvered that sleeve cap situation. The final sweater fits so well. Yay for stick-to-itiveness!

Amelie says, "Honda Fit! Yay!"

xoxo

Gravatar So glad to see that you are back to blogging. I always love seeing your inspired creations! And I guess that's what keeps me coming back for more in terms of knitting blogs. I just feel it keeps me close to those that I don't get to chat with on a daily (or yearly, in some cases) basis. And I get the added bonus of seeing all the beautiful handknits.
I have unsubbed from very few blogs over the years, and I'm extra glad that yours wasn't one of them. The sweater is amazing!!!

Gravatar Well, posts like this one is what keeps me coming back to knitting blogs! Fortunately in a world of readers I don't really care how often someone posts.. I'll read it whenever they post it no matter how often or how little that is!

Love the sweater!

Gravatar What keeps me inspired to read knitting blogs is the motivation and kick in the butt I get. When I haven't picked up my needles for way too long, I find myself cruising around blogs more often, hoping to be inspired by the projects of someone else. Without a doubt, this works.

Gravatar Wonderful to have you back, my dear.

What keeps me blogging is sheer vanity, and the (sometimes mistaken) belief that everyone wants to hear what I have to say. And of course you, all of you, everyone in this room, and my wonderful parents, and. . . I just recently watched a video of Susan Lucci accepting her emmy, can you tell?

Gravatar the car is adorable! i just want to squeeze it!!! glad you persisted with the sleeve caps. that has to be the most confusing, frustrating and hardest area to knit accurately to fit right!

hmm - what keeps me blogging? I think that just knowing all you guys are out there waiting for a next post is pretty motivational!

Gravatar I really like the practice of writing. I don't work outside the home, and I think writing focuses my mind, and forces me to analyze my knitting more. I think it also keeps me on my toes, knitting wise, in that it motivates me to really work through problems instead of just saying "screw it!!!" because working through problems (like your brilliant and well-fitting sleeve cap!!) makes for good blog fodder.

And plus, I get to know cool folks like you, so that keeps me going. Great sweater, J!

Gravatar I love to read knitting blogs to see the creativity from other knitters. My day job is very numbers-oriented, so it's really refreshing and uses a different part of my brain to see different colors, shapes, stitch patterns etc.

That sweater looks fantastic!! Yay for finishing and having a great photo shoot!

Gravatar it makes me heart sooo very happy to see this post, dear. i missed your posts - and i am so glad to see that your pullover worked out so well. the fit is perfect. you were so persistent to get it right - i would have given up! amazing work

i definitely keep blogging because i have met so many wonderful people through the medium... and i just love keeping up with my best friends over long distances.

can't wait to see you in a few weeks! xoxo

Gravatar your pentagon sweater looks great! I love it without the turtleneck. It also inspires me to try BW's top-down sleeve cap method if the sweater I'm currently knitting gives me misshapen sleeve insets as I suspect it will.

As for the blogging, I love to see other people solve problems and make awesome/gorgeous/funky things. It's inspirational!

Gravatar So worth all the effort!! It looks great and comfy and flattering. Congrats on the car, too. I'm just now considering getting rid of mine.

I love reading knitting blogs to share other people's adventures, like your sweater. It's not so much about technical advice or the latest yarn (that's what ravelry's for!), but the personal stories.

I keep writing (intermittently) my knitting blog...I don't know. I guess for the same reason. I can share all my project details on ravelry, but when I want to vent about having to frog something or celebrate decreasing my stash or whatever, I share that on my blog.

Gravatar yay, you're back! congratulations on the new car - i am enjoying getting sweet rides around town.

Gravatar hey! congrats on the car! and the sweater looks awesome!!!

I don't know if it's fair to ask ME what keeps me inspired to write blogs, since I've been SO BAD at it lately. But I continue to read them because it keeps me connected to all of the wonderful people I've met through blogging and gives me a chance to meet new crafty friends. I'm also inspired by all of them in so many ways. My bloggy friends have definately helped me grow and learn over the last 4-ish years and I'm so grateful for that

Gravatar In many ways I blog as a time capsule to my future self. I know all these days, memories, projects would escape me if I didn't keep them safe somewhere. Keeping them helps me remember where I've been in addition to helping me keep in touch with those far away.

Gravatar Love the sweater, and many kudos to you for sticking with it!

I write my knitting blog for myself (as a record of what I was doing and thinking over time), as a way to communicate with family and friends (hence the encroachment of non-knitting news) and occasionally because I think that I've come up with something that's worth sharing with the knitting masses.
I read knitting blogs to get or stay inspired, to help me pick my next projects, and to stay up to date on all of the life happenings of my bloggy friends.

Gravatar It's great to see some writing from you again.
I love reading the stories behind the knitted object, so that's in essence why I keep reading blogs like yours.
I don't think I could ever have such interesting things to say about my own knitting, so that's why I do not have a blog myself.

Gravatar Your sweater looks great!

I don't have a blog, but I read knitting blogs often because they inspire me to take more risks with my knitting and remind me that I'm not crazy for enjoying it (too often, people ask me why I'm doing something so boring).

Gravatar The sweater turned out gorgeous! Way to persevere : ) (Things like this are what inspire me!)

Gravatar I'm so glad to see you posting again. I've picked blogging back up and it feels good to be part of the community again.

Your sweater is fantastic, and will look so good in your new car. I know getting a car was not your number one life priority, but I'm glad you are getting some of your time back and hopefully you will have even more energy for what you love.

Gravatar Lovely Pentagon sweater. Thanks for chronicling your sleeve evolution - we all can learn from your experience. Which brings me to what keeps me inspired to read knitting blogs (although that has led to chicken blogs and gardening blogs, and...) - and that is that I keep learning. Whether it is a new method (I love the Magic loop) or new patterns, or designers, or dyers, I'm always seeing something new.
Thanks for the contest - good to see you back.

Gravatar The Fit is go!
I'm so glad to see that you finished the sweater - it fits great! I think I remember when you bought that yarn - it's the company with only naturally-dyed yarn, right? Let's see.... I am a very sporadic blogger. I think my favorite thing to post is when something weird happens or I get a picture of something funny.

Gravatar I love your new Honda!
I first stumbled onto blogs when I was googling for some crafty thing or other and found the notmartha blog. One blog led to another and I found a whole bunch of amazing knitters who blog. They inspire me and tempt me. With all the blogs out there, I have to ration my time so I still have time to knit. I've always time to read your blog. : )

Gravatar the sweater came of so fantastic that it actually had me consider adding it to my queue (what a fool i'd be, as i have 'how many' unfinished sweaters already?!).
i couldn't remember why the sleeve caps were such a problem, so i went fishing into the 'pentagon' archives and saw that you knit the sweater at a different gauge .... ahhh! so, now it all makes sense.
you are a great knitter jenna! you persisted 'til you got it right, and what a lovely sweater you now have =)

Gravatar Wow! Gorgeous sweater - love the color, and what a beautiful design.

And - the car is nice too - I have been looking at the Honda Fit for a while now.....maybe one day.

Gravatar I find that great photos are a good way to keep me coming back.

I love you Pentagons sweater -- I've been thinking about making one for quite a while.

Gravatar Much too late for your contest - just came here via Lolly's blog - but wanted to say I LOVE your sweater. It's great without the turtleneck - you've made me want to make it now!

Gravatar Just a first timer to your blog and I love the blue swirl sweater. It fits you very well. It matches the car and I will start to be a reader.
