This Is Not A Democracy, It's A Republic........

Dubya basically could have just said this and gotten it overwith:
"We lied. We dropped the ball. But now we have one of two choices: Stay and follow through on our wrong assumption while thousands more are killed. Or pack up, quit and come home. We ask for your support."
He made it sound so nonchalant that he and his comrades literally planned the making of a case to invade Iraq. Uh, we're sorry we got us there on "faulty intelligence," (that we made up), but we're gonna need your support now that you guys found out about it.
You can't come on television and lie to fix the other lies. The sad thing is, people like you, Jenn, bought it.

Will, there were numerous reasons to go into Iraq. So, which part do you have issue with?
Those 16 words?(Which would be your,"faulty intelligence".)
The fact that Saddam was a tyrant, who killed his own people?
The fact that he lied?
That he kept weapons inspectors out?
That he hated America, and would help fund terrorists?
That he paid Palastinian bombers to commit suicide to kill Jewish civilians?
How about the 1.7 metric tons of enriched uranium found?
Or the banned weopons found?
Just trying to figure out what reasons it would take for you to think it was a good idea.
Would Saddam/or those he aided, have to have dropped on nuke on Detroit for you to get it?
Hmmmmm?

Actually, the part that still pisses me off is the fact that we had united as a nation and as a world after 9/11 only to have Dubya fuck it up by invading the wrong country.
I need someone to explain to me why we don't care about Bin Laden anymore. I want someone to explain why we knew Bin Laden, Al Qaida and 14 Saudis were involved in 9/11, but we instead invade Iraq. Not only do we invade Iraq, but it's force-fed down our throats that they'll get us and they're bad people and that's where the terrorists are and that they have all these WMDs that could launch from Baghdad and hit DC at any moment.
Now there are 87 percent more terrorists in Iraq since we invaded, according to most polls/studies and Bin Laden and his crew are chillin'. Hell, Bush himself even said he doesn't care about Bin Laden anymore.
It's just all so ridiculous. Now you people are all excited about Hussein being out of power and us winning some stupid war when it had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11.
I just want the truth. It shouldn't be that hard for our government to shoot straight with the American people.

I thought the speech was damn good and I really liked that he had a press conference this morning and hammered home the point about how important the Patriot Act is and that winning the War in Iraq is not vital to our national security. His ratings have now gone up. I think he needs to keep up these fireside chats with the American people. We get it, but a lot of other people might not, and they may get to influenced by the liberal media. Good goin GWB.
