This Is Not A Democracy, It's A Republic........

Yes, it was also the first time that I had ever heard a president speak of alternative energy sources also! OMG it's totally gonna happen!

Personally I liked when the Dems went crazy, clapping for killing any chance to reform Social Security.
It's almost like coming out saying "We killed the Patriot Act".
But the best part was Sheehan getting arrested.........Only a complete dumbass would have given her a pass.
You are right about Cheney.....He looks like hell. Old guy should probably step down.......So Condi can step in

You don’t get it. Well, you get half of it. Social Security needs reform (adjustment), no reasonably intelligent person would argue that. However, a majority of Democrats and American Citizens think Bush’s plan is a miserable joke. The most laughable part of said plan, in my opinion, gambling part of your investment in Stocks. Enron anyone?

Saw your post over at MIA CL so decided to stop by based on the blog name alone.
I have to agree with you about the best part of the speech being finding alternatives to oil. Man, I wanted to stand up and applaud that part. I also rather enjoyed what he said about the Patriot Act...hee! Love it when he smacks them down with the fricken REALITY!
And Hitlery? She always looks like she's sucking on something sour.
I'll let that joke work by itself.

Hey thanks for your comment on my blog! I am very surprised to see the US talking about alternative energy resources, and it's only a good thing. They could have done it earlier rather than reject the Kyoto protocol though.
Seeing the highlights, it seems like a very good speech. There will always be the question of how much of the promise is actually lived up to though, we can only wait and see.
Again, thanks!

Hillary is just a God-awful disrespectful bitch and I wish she would've been arrested along with that freakin' A-hole Sheehan who's host said that she was glad she invited her....these are the people who want to run our country???
Good speech, strong language and indicated plans in the works, something the democrats stilll don't have, and they sould be embarassed with their childish and ignorant behavior....sickening!

My personal favorite qoutes:
"We love our freedom, and we will fight to keep it."
"The United States will not retreat from the world, and we will never surrender to evil."
" Fellow citizens, we are in this fight to win, and we are winning."
I also thought it was genius when he mentioned supporting in the troops and supporting the war in the same sentance, thus causing the Democrats to stand up, because they HAD to support the troops. When the camera turned back the expression on the President's face cleary read, "Gotcha."
The Democrats making asses out of themselves by standing up when Bush repremanded them for not allowing his Social Security reform bill to pass and Cindy Sheehan getting herself jailed were just added bonuses.

Interestingly enough, I was just looking at some photo's of Sheehan and she appears to be:
1) Smiling
2) Jacket free
3) Being guided rather gently away from her seat.
Photos's rarely lie.
But according to her, she merely unzipped the jacket, and they pounced, and hurt her so bad she has bruises and muscle spasms.
She makes me sick. She is the worst attention whore I have ever been witness to.

Much of this was Bush charting a course away from Reagan and accepting big government. Sure its nice that Bush wants us to find an alternative to petroleum and to advance our R&D, but how can he call himself a fiscal conservative and then call for large-scale spending increases to fund such things? He wants to decrease our dependency on foreign oil but he refused to even mention tapping domestic sources.
Bush was very tough on Hamas, btw; he laid out in his strongest tone of the night the conditions that would need to be met before we would talk to them. These are conditions that Hamas cannot meet and still be Hamas. In the interest of blogvertising you're welcome to check out my take.

Good speech. Some really good highlights, but I think he backed away from being too right wing and tried to be a bit more centrist. The whole wire tap issue made the Dems looks like idiots. lol.

13)*****YES!!!! Working on alternative energy sources. Awesome. F*ck Yeah. Get away from gas. Lose our dependency on oil. Freakin' brilliant. Best part of the speech
Bush is such a visionary!
First he saves us from Saddam Hussein and now he's going to save us from all of his evil oil!
IAM4U, Mr. Bush!

Speaking of, whatever came of the deal when Dubya was clearly wearing some kind of box under the back of his jacket at that one debate with Kerry?
Did they ever determine what that was? I'm not one for conspiracies, but there was clearly something in there and I don't remember what came of that.
And, seriously, freedom is on the march.

Hmmm the little box.
Just my personal take, as I watched all of the debates, it certainly wasn't some kind of box feeding him info or witty retorts. I watched them, they were not witty, nor were most of his retorts worth a dime. I did not however see the little box with my own two eyes.I mean, he's a pretty bad public speaker.. thought the SOTU was pretty good.

On that score, Les Enfant, I'm afraid that you'll have to find freedom in captivity. Because "nappy time" for Americans is officially over. And these babies are not happy with what the party in charge has done to this country.
That said, I do reserve the right to nap from time to time.
Stick with the Gophers, TP! In fifteen years, that Gop may still be a powerhouse.

Mad,you are one of those people that, if terrorists attacked again, and could have been stopped via wiretaps, would be screaming bloody murder that they didn't do enough.
Whiner.
Hey, why don't you tell me your party's platform. What was that? Dont have one? Yup, figured.

Ya Mad,
The Dem's are poised for a landslide in 06. After they destroy the GOP next week in the NSA hearings, it will only get better.
And that platform. What can I say.
Your right about one thing though. Nappy time is definately over. Political infants like yourself have awakened as if by a global alarm clock to take back America!
What a comfortable delusion you live in. Like the child who imagines he is a fireman, you imagine that America embraces your revolution.
It's cute. Makes me want to break out the camera and snap a few shots for posterity. Years from now we can look back and say: Oh look, there's Mad pretending that America embraces his vision. He was such a cute little guy.
