Come on now, that's a cheap shot.......Bin Laden is just misunderstood.
----------------
Bin Laden has been "out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that." -- Sen. Patty "Osama Mama" Murray (D - Washington)

Damn I'm glad I don't live in Liberalville.

So if OBL is a soul-less asshole for ordering the murders of say (roughly) 3000 people on 9/11, what does that make George W. Bush for murdering 30,000 Iraqis (by White House estimates)?
I would say: as soul-less asshole times 1000. Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if you said, "hero" but then it goes to show how consistent you are. *grin*

Balance, comparing G.W. to Osama is like comparing satan to the easter bunny. Stan being Osama. Idiot.

I don't think he recognizes 9/11 or any other atrocities led by OBL. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't recognize Iran as a volatile country.
But oh well, most left wingers don't.

First off, allow me to correct my really bad math. It was 4AM after all. *grin* I meant to say "times 10" not "1000" ... oh well.
I don't see what Iran has to do with this topic. I recognize that Iran is a potential threat, but I am disturbed by the double-standards of the United States and its allies. Why is it okay for Israel to have nukes, let alone nuclear energy, but not Iran?
Furthermore, if Iran is in the pursuit of nuclear weapons, who could blame them? George W. Bush set the precedent. By needlessly attacking Iraq, he established that the United States would not confront a nation with nuclear weapons, e.g. North Korea, a country who is far more dangerous than either Iraq or Iran. THerefore the suggestion that GWB is like the easter bunny may be more correct than you think.
The reason I cited 9/11 specifically is because I didn't have, nor did I have the inclination to find, a running tally of all attacks ordered by OBL.
Besides, I reasoned that any purported running tally could not be 100 percent accurate. Are we going to blame every bombing in Iraq against OBL? Oh sure, he might take credit for them, but Al Qaeda is not some tightly woven terrorist organization, and many of it's supposed "members" do their own thing. If they are successful in carrying out an attack, OBL gets more credit.
Still, if George W. Bush can order an illegal invasion of a sovereign nation, a nation that never harmed nor threatened us, and in the process kills 30,000 innocent people (that they at least admit to, the number is probably higher), that makes us as a nation as bad as the enemy, if not worse.

I just noticed something, no matter how hard any of us debate no one is going to change another's mind.
Why bother rebut something if it will inevitably be in vain?
Oh well, I guess that's politics.

Well the assumption goes that reasonable people can be swayed by reasonable arguments, regardless of political affiliation.
I am liberal, but I am not married to my ideology. My position comes from a rationalized view of the world we live in, which based on my findings, positions me left of center.
Right-wing echo-chambers such as Jenn's blog here, are why I post rebuttals. I do so in the hopes that the reasonable conservatives might be swayed toward reason instead of the irrational invective spewed by this blog.

Nice going, BOP.
It's true: reasonable people are swayed by reasonable arguments. The "Poison Pero's" of this world are clearly not reasonable people. They're fascinated with violence, hatred, and pain -- vicarious manifestations of their own innate powerlessness and misery. Leave them to their musings on poop.
Matt -- I must say that, like BOP, I'm always open to accepting a thoughtful comment on our society, and certainly on the issue of race. What's happening in our country today, and the political issues that result, are asssuredly not cut and dry. And I agree that these little debates too often devolve into unproductive rhetorical skirmishes. Don't throw up your hands. I would say to continue to try to make your point as convincing as possible. And if your sarcasm or wit enhances your ability to do so, then use that too. We see the world in a different way. It doesn't make us enemies. And it doesn't make communication fruitless.

Actually Boppity Bop, I started this blog out of frustration "debating" with those on the left who are NOT "swayed by reasonable arguments." I frankly got tired of posting numerous links and providing valid arguments with those who never listen. Decided it was more fun just telling it how I feel at the moment. Sometimes I change my mind, sometimes I don't.
I frequent several left wing blogs, where much of what they write is hysterical rhetoric filled with hate and governmental loathing. But I find there is always one voice of reason, that I can happiliy discuss with, and while we may never be swayed by the other's thought path, we can at least talk like grown ups.
This is not the point of this blog. If you want polite commentary, please feel free to go elsewhere. The name of this blog is SAY NO TO P.C.B.S.
I grow rapidly more tired everyday of everyone trying to pleaseeveryone else all of the time.
If someone finds my commentary irritating, racist, evil, or heartless, so be it, that's life.

That being said:
Mad, some issues are cut and dry. Many are.
Bop: You said,"Still, if George W. Bush can order an illegal invasion of a sovereign nation, a nation that never harmed nor threatened us, and in the process kills 30,000 innocent people (that they at least admit to, the number is probably higher), that makes us as a nation as bad as the enemy, if not worse."
Mr. Gore, is that you?
1) Bush did not order sh*t.
"Friday, October 11, 2002 Posted: 12:35 PM EDT (1635 GMT)
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In a major victory for the White House, the Senate early Friday voted 77-23 to authorize President Bush to attack Iraq."
2)Innocent people? I'm sorry, are you aware that 99.9% of the insurgents/terrrorists dress as civilians? So, of the alleged 30,000+ people, how many, really, how many were "innocents"? Don't know, do you?
3)Never threatened huh? Yeah, Saddam, of the terrorist funding ilk, and genocidal fun, was no threat at all.
"We will chase [Americans] to every corner at all times. No high tower of steel will protect them against the fire of truth."
Saddam Hussein, Baghdad Radio, February 8, 1991
"[America] will not be excluded from the operations and explosions of the Arab and Muslim mujahidin and all the honest strugglers in the world."
Iraq News Agency, January 30, 1991 (State-controlled)
"Oh sons of Arabs and the Arab Gulf, rebel against the foreigner...Take revenge for your dignity, holy places, security, interests and exalted values."
Saddam Hussein, January 5, 1999
Now, that being said, people like you who claim that we are worse that our enemies make me a bit ill. When was the last time a bunch of crazed Americans, lit a shit load of buildings on fire, killed dozens of people, and promised death on massive scales, over some cartoons? Hmmmm? When was that?
Please tell me about all those Americans, thousands of them carrying signs saying things like,"Europe you will have to pay, your 9/11 is on it's way"?
You know of any Americans who routinely practice "honor killings"?
How about some Americans who just love a good beheading?
Know a ton of Americans who would strap a bomb on themselves, and kill kids sitting in a cafe, playing in the street,on the way to school?
Sure, 30,000+ dead, how many were a direct result of what we had done? Or what they themselves do?
As bad as them? Time for a reality check kiddo, they are far worse, and I have a feeling we haven't seen half of it yet.
