This Is Not A Democracy, It's A Republic........

Gravatar Yeah, I'm really not worked up about this issue at all...

Gravatar My eyebrows seem to be stuck in the raised position. Can't...get...them...to come...down.

Chertoff can spin the merits of this all he wants. Bottom line: crucial component of homeland security is outsourced to an Arab business. I say again: outsourced to an Arab business. This one is strange, even for the Bush administration.

I have no doubt that folks are already looking into business partnerships that may exist between certain White House cronies and this U.A.B. company.

Interesting, Donald Rumsfeld seems to like it: At the Pentagon, the U.A.E. was praised as an important strategic military partner by both Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Rumsfeld told that a process was in place and “the process worked.” Aha. Bribery?

The politics of this one are so bad that even Bill Frist, the ethical investor, has tepidly questioned it.

Gravatar Interesting. Does it snow in Dubai?

Gravatar I did considerably more research into this DPW and it's holdings.

Can't say that I am as excited about it as I was upon hearing the original media scarefest.

Still, why a UAE company, I would much prefer one from a country of less nefarious background.

Gravatar Hey, lets just give all our shit to the UAE and let them run us! I'm sure UAE would love to get a piece of American poon just so they could get them nukes.

Why the fuck Bush is worrying about this blows my mind. I have a feeling there is a scandal floating above all of our heads.

Maybe when I sign my papers for the NAVY tommorow they might let me in on Georgie-boy's secret.

Gravatar Matt..... You are a hoot. Kepp up the anti-P.C. shit. Love it.

But, hey, don't slap your women twice, spank 'em.

Gravatar Maybe when I sign my papers for the NAVY tommorow they might let me in on Georgie-boy's secret.

Probably Bush's love for Gannon...

Gravatar "Hey Bush, WTF are you thinking?"

I couldn't have said it better. If anything is going to kill the Republicans' chances in '06 and '08 it's this. Forget the chance of a terrorist attack from this, I'm more worried about Hillary Clinton running our country......*shutters*

Gravatar Okay --

Can we end this "Hilary Clinton running the country" stuff?

Is there anyone out there who actually thinks this will happen?

Since I'm coming, for the most part, from the left -- I have to say that I don't know a single person, nor have I heard an account from anyone over here who thinks she'll be the Dem candidate in '08. Frankly, I've heard the opposite -- people on the left who oppose her, or think she's fine right where she is: NY Senator.
Why do you guys endlessly promote this myth?

They'd nominate Joementum before they nominated Hilary. God, that would be the ticket FROM HELL!

Gravatar If you've not heard anything about ol Hil running for president being mulled by liberals everywhere, then you have been living in a cave!!!

Let's see, there's this:
http://www.votehillary.org/CMS/

And this:
Hillary Clinton Tops 2008 Gallup Poll
February 16, 2006

PRINCETON, NJ -- With more than two years until the 2008 presidential election, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton remains the front-runner for the Democratic nomination amidst a field of relatively well-established political figures. Her lead includes a better than two-to-one margin over Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry among Democratic registered voters (39% to 15%), according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll conducted Feb. 9-12. Essentially tied with Kerry are former Vice President Al Gore and former Sen. John Edwards, receiving 13% and 12% support respectively.

Not to mention this:
"If the 2008 Democratic presidential primary were held today, whom would you support if the candidates are?"
2/13-15/06 - Hillary Clinton 40%
Asked of Democrats and Democratic leaners nationwide.WNBC/Marist Poll

Oh, don't forget this:
Even Wikipedia agree's....

Gravatar Oh, she's edging out John Kerry by a point. These polls are big media's attempt to manufacture support for a presidential race that would further divide America and further explode their ratings, while probably also guarenteeing a Democratic loss. These polls are about NAME recognition and are about creating the kind of hysterical response you and the right-wing so heartily give. Pollsters and pundits talking about her as a favorite is not really what I meant, since their interest has everything to do with their own ratings. I was talking more about the grass roots dems, the ones who want good governement and not just a good show, and the ones that will shape the 2008 primary. But I should have been more clear. Neither Hilary nor John Kerry have a democracy's chance in Iraq of winning the 2008 primary. I would, however, say that Edwards and Gore have an outside shot at being a part of the mix.

Gravatar GORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus Christ on a popscicle stick!!!

Ain't heard of no grassroots Dems, just lying liberals and the lies they tell.

Gravatar Ohhhhh-kay...

Yeah, you'd better bring in the deck furniture, Jenn -- Hurricane Al may just be on the way.

But I think it's more likely he won't run. ?/? vs McCain/Giuliani? Or will your religious fanatics put a nix on the Republican ticket with the most potential?
