This Is Not A Democracy, It's A Republic........

Gravatar While I agree that our immigration laws should be enforced, I think you're off track when you say "...I assure you, we'd find money we didn't know we had. Health care for our own people suddenly more cost-friendly,aid for senior and social security...."

The ability for industry to use poorly paid and poorly treated immigrant workers actually drives productivity. (I'm not talking about people that aren't working, though). Sure, there are americans that will do these jobs, but the cost would be much greater.

I'd be interested in your take on offshoring of jobs. I'm all for it. How about you?

Gravatar Actually, some outsourcing is fine. Not only does it create trade/goodwill with the country that we are outsourcing to, but in some cases, items can just be made cheaper.

But, there are concerns about child labor, unfair wages, and such. These are issues that need to be looked into first. I have spoken on several occasions to Indians in India when calling a credit card or such. Though I am aware they are probably recorded, many seem very happy in their jobs, and pleased to work there.

As for the "drive" of productivity. I speak of using prisoners and welfare vampires for the jobs, think, what would you pay a prisoner to pick veggies. A few cents? Nothing.

Good. Our tax dollars go to feeding and housing these criminals, and all they do is form gangs and find ways to keep doing drugs. Make them work.

Same thing with welfare recipients. No more free checks.
