States? It should be the official language of the whole country. Anyone who doesn't like it can leave instead of inconvining everyone else.

Unbelievable! (sighs, rolls eyes, shakes head in disgust) What's wrong with this picture??? I would have never dreamed a person could possibly lose their job in this country for expressing that they speak English.
Along with granting illegals amnesty, this is just something else that makes me absolutely apoplectic!! And livid!!

It is true, at the Federal Level there is no official language. Think about the amount of money that could be saved by printing documents in say... ONE language.

TRY LIVING IN ARIZONA!!!
It's like a Turd World wasteland here.
It's bad enough my children have 1/4 of their class-time wasted by teachers going over the subject in Spanish, but whats really bad is I can't even get my lunch through a drive-thru without it being f'd up.
Laughing on the outside.........crying on the inside.

from the article:
The problems began last spring. Gray, 50, owns a lawn service business on the side. He was routinely driving to work in his pickup truck towing a trailer that he uses to carry lawn mowing equipment for his business. On the side of his trailer, the married father of two affixed a sign that reads "Lawn Services Done With Pride!! By An English Speaking American."
----------------------------
Thats a slightly condescending statement to have on your work truck. Especially the way it implies that he's trying to diversify himself by saying that other lawn mowers don't take pride in their work. What a bunch of bullshit. This guy sounds like an asshole.

Last time I looked, I thought the whole country was English Speaking Territory. What's next? Bi-lingual bathrooms and Spanish Only Restaurants?

Yes,it should be the official language of the entire U.S. Period.
All documentation should be in English, all official statements.
When I call about my credit cards, my phone bill, my bank, I should not be asked if I want to hear my options in any language other than English. (Or American, as I call it, we just don' speak the same as the Brits. Trust me I'm married to one.)

No, LV, he sounds like someone that is sick and tired and pissed off.
That is sick and tired of hearing spanish everywhere he goes.
Lord know's, I am. The only time I should hear it is when I am in Mexico. When I am there I speak Spanish, I expect the same from people living here.
Oh, and isn't this violating his fredom of speech?

I thought English is accepted as official language globally. Like in India, our language is Hindi but English is considered as official language. To our seniors in office, we speak only in English.
Nice post

I thought English is accepted as official language globally.
I've heard it is considered the international business language. In countries like Thailand, China, the Philippines and many others, children are taught English in school.
Thats a slightly condescending statement to have on your work truck.
It says he's an English speaking American. It's the truth. What's the big deal? Is he is not entitled to freedom of expression?
People get sick of all the booger-eating, bed-wetting, appeasing apologists who are so concerned about whether someone is going to be offended or not. Learn the language that the majority of the other people in the country speak and maybe it won't be an issue anymore.

When I lived in a building full of illegals, most could speak English, but chose not to. They'd get away with more.
And they relished being able to talk smack about the "pinje Americano's", thinking I didn't know what they were saying.
