Friday Funnies are not fodder to be heavily debated. They are jokes. It's that simple.
I have to agree with Jenn, this is both funny and true (metaphorically speaking). There seem to be this cadre of people who think that giving people "stuff" will make things right. Ironically, the government and courts tend to agree with that mentality. It's the "entitlement" mentality.
If the folks who think that, because they're in dismal jobs, making little or no money, living in substandard housing, etc, etc would get off the idea that the country owes them something, we'd all be better off. There are plenty of people who started life with little or nothing and did just fine (Andrew Carnegie being an excellent example).
Kole is right, Jenn........This story isn't very realistic.
In the story Jesse, Al and the EEOC are by default listed as human instead of the cockroaches they are.
I mean, come on. If you are going to tell a story about bugs, and then use referrences to the cockroaches listed, you should at least give them proper credit for being such.
Of course what Kole is referring to as not realistic is probably because he has been in the place of the grasshopper.
