This Is Not A Democracy, It's A Republic........

Gravatar If the Mexican "policy" is so right, why do we have to go through customs when (if) we go in to Mexico?

If I run down to the Rio Grande and wade across I can do what I want? I won't get arrested? BS, I don't think so. I would be lucky if I wasn't shot or beaten by the Mexican "police."

Gravatar See, what you don't understand is that this IS there country. We stole it and so therefore, we are here illegally and THEY are the legal citizens. Our pennance is to pay for it all.

If you were in touch with your PC side, you would understand all of that.

Meanie!

VW

Gravatar We need more Minuteman with Broncos and shotguns/assault rifles.

I am being completely serious.

Gravatar Sure VW, I'm real P.C.

Actually I got an e-mail that you have all probably gotten, you know the one that says....

Go to Mexico, try to buy a house, demand that all literature be in English, demand that they give you free health care, free schooling. Demand, demand, demand. It just set me off, I've gotten it before, but this morning after watching illegal citizens DEMAND!!! And wave their countries flag, I just had to spew.

Does anyone ever give any thought to the fact that the current Mexicans actually stole the land from the natives first??????

Gravatar As much as you hate it, you're still supporting Bush Co. and his big business oriented brand of government.

Did you know that approximately 36 percent of all new construction (highways, homes, malls, stores) in the USA can be attributed to illegal immigrant workers?

Hmm, wonder what would happen if nearly 40 percent of construction ceases?

You can't have it both ways, repubs.

Gravatar If those immies were to leave, then that 40% may fill up with LEGAL Americans.

Oh, and Pete... thanks to ambiguity you left out that that 40% of construction is mostly for homes for the immies or agencies to deal with them.

Gravatar JUMPING JEHOSEPHATS!!!!!!!!!!! Pete how long have you been coming here.

Your scare tactics (prices and costs will go up!! blah, blah, blah) are a load of bullpucky.

1)Non violent inmates. Put them to work, picking crops, making license plates, whatever. Use inmates to do the jobs no one wants to do.

2)Every single person who is able to work, and is recieving welfare... Hello!!!! cheap labor. Don't work, no check. So endeth welfare.

Take away benefits to families after they have more than two, three kids max, as the current system awards dependancy on the government.

We don't need illegals we've got more than enough people in this country to do the work. The illegals cost more than they are worth as a labor force.Think of all those Billions of dollars they send home to Mexico, staying right here in our country. Nice.

Damn, I could go on for hours.

Gravatar Hey, I'm in agreement here, folks.

I was just raising an interesting point about the dip the economy would take if we woke up one day and all of the illegals were gone.

Your wishlist, though it might sound good at first to the simple man, would never work and will never happen. You're forgetting the role politics plays. First of all, I think you're assuming that illegals are all doing work that nobody else wants to do, which just isn't true. Show me an Applebee's and I'll show you 10 illegals washing dishes and cleaning tables. You want inmates bussing tables in public restaurants? That's just one example. Here in Arkansas, which handles about half of the world's chicken industry, it's estimated that 90 percent of chicken-house workers are Mexican and one-third of those are illegal.

For the most part, I think illegals are hard-working good people who are happy just to have an opportunity here. You always paint them as causing a "cesspool" or whatever. I think if American employers were held accountable for putting illegals to work to help with their bottom line, then we'd be off to a good start. No work, no reason to be here.

Matt, I don't know where you get off thinking that "40% of construction is mostly for homes for the immies or agencies to deal with them." That's just not a smart statement and if you read it again you might realize how 'tarded that sounds. If you still need an explanation, then I'll be happy to debunk that one for you.

Again, if we protect our own borders without invading others, everyone would be better off.

Gravatar I've got to weigh in on this one.

This all comes down to money. Why are illegals here; money. That's why every major bank has a special "send money to Mexico" program. The Mexicans are, for the most part, reasonably hard working and just want a paycheck. To them, my best advice is - build industry in Mexico.

India actual has(had depending on which city) a lower standard of living than Mexico. However, several cities have seen a huge boost in economic growth by building call centers, engineering teams, etc. They all learn English, some learn to speak with little or no accent, and most have college degrees. More interesting is that India is making an effort to move away from an agrarian society - Mexico isn't.

Mexicans in general and their government haven't learned what the Indians have - get educated, build industries, and get rich. It's hard to get rich plucking chicken feathers, picking oranges or cleaning hotel rooms. The Mexican government should be working with G3000 companies on building wafer fabs, call centers, engineering teams, bio-tech labs, etc to take advantage of the lower cost of living. The average Mexican would get a better wage than they get elsewhere, keep the money in their country, build a higher standard of living in Mexico in general and our illegal immigration problem would mostly evaporate.

As for benefits here - turn them off. I hate going to the ER and waiting 3-4 hours unless I'm bleeding from my eyes. If you want any service of any kind from the government you have to provide a drivers license or similar and you have to be a legal resident to get such documentation. If private groups (churches, etc) want to support them, fine - it's their money. Sure, I might have to pay more for my housekeepers, yardworkers, etc but I'm paying less than they should cost anyway.

Now, for my one gripe - immigrants to refer to North American immigration from 1600-1940. This was all fine and good while we had seemingly endless resources and space. Yes, American ingenuity came from plenty of immigrants. However, for every Andrew Carnegie (came from Ireland by boat as a child) there were a whole lot of truly worthless people. They were cannon-fodder for our various wars, labor to build our infrastructure, etc. Times have changed. If you want an opportunity, make it in your own country and the world will be a better place. Dont' run from the problems in Mexico - fix them.

Anyway, enough blathering for today.
Jenn - great post...

Gravatar To solely blame the nasty corporations is an easy way out. That way you can pretend to be anti-immigration and ignore the fact that 11 million or more are already here. That takes the blame off of the individual illegal immigrant. We all know the left wants them so they'll vote for them. They really don't want to stem the flow by much.

If they were honest, they would agree that it is going to take several ways to stem the flow and busting companies isn't the ONLY answer. It's part of it, but not all of it. It's the easy answer that requires little thought. (Immigration for DUmmies)

It's just natural for the Moonbats to blame the evil corporation. Capitalism is the root of all evil. All we need to do is convert to a 3rd world crap hole and we'll all be happy because we'll all be equally poor.

VW

Gravatar Just wanted to stop by & thank you for stopping by my blog.

Gravatar VW - I'm not sure you understand my post. I'm not blaming corporations. It isn't their fault the culture in Mexico is corrupt and dated. It is their fault for hiring these people, however, we do owe a lot of low priced food, services, etc to the fact that these people will do jobs most Americans don't want to do.

So, just to reiterate - encourgage corporate development in Mexico, hire the locals, build a stronger Mexican economy and voila - no more immigration problem. It really is that simple.

For anyone who feels that politics would make such an effort difficult, doesn't fully understand how much money drives politics. Money talks, B.S. walks - as they say.

Gravatar Pete, that wasn't aimed solely at you, It was said for anyone reading. I specifically didn't use your name and tried to keep it generic to some degree.

Although your first comment did seem to indicate you were doing that.

VW

Gravatar "Hmm, wonder what would happen if nearly 40 percent of construction ceases?"

Actually, when you put it like that. I am in. The liberals are supposed to be for National Parks. And I don't need anymore malls. I have a home. I am covered.

And if we cut back on building the roads, I could have an excuse to spend more time off-road.

Gravatar I just wish the SOB's would get my lunch order correct one time.
--------------
I do an immigration post every other week, or so........They are titled "The Invasion of the Huns, Vandals, & Goths"

Here's the link to my last one (I think you'll get my take on it pretty quickly):
http://therightisright.blogspot....dals- goths.html

Gravatar It's a touchy enough subject as it is, Pero. We can do without the blatant racism.

Grow up.

Gravatar Great comments folks.

What is so sad, is that Mexico has such huge natural resources, there is no excuse for it to be the 3rd world country. None.

And, enlightened, you stated one of my favorite points brilliantly. It's not the 1600's we don't need more immigrants.

As I've said before, build the wall, and hang a little sign saying, "Sorry, we're closed."

Gravatar Dear Jenn

I completely agree with your point. No country will encourage the illegal immigrants.

Regarding "They (Indians)all learn English, some learn to speak with little or no accent, and most have college degrees"

Being an Indian, I wanted to share you that in India almost everyone is Graduate. Education level is too high in India. Call centres has really raised the economy of India a lot. English is like our second language after Hindi. In offices, we have to speak only in English, though our accent may be different from Americans.

Have a nice day ahead

Love
Nidhi

Gravatar The defense of illegal immigration in this topic is sickening. Do people really think that it's okay to keep illegals here becasue they do crap jobs no one else wants to do? I bet that makes immigrants feel real special. "Hey we're liberal we love Mexicans! stay so you can wash my dishes, pick my oranges and build my roads for cheap"

If this is really the case, that our reliance on illegal immigrants will cause 40 percent of construction to stop then we have a national crisis on our hands.

I'm respectfull of anyone that does "crap jobs" becasue they need to be done and I don't want to do it. I'm also respectfull of anyone that risks their life to cross a border to pick oranges to make a better life for themselves unfortunately we're bursting at the seems and we just can't hold anymore.

Gravatar I'm not an illegal alien. What was the point again?

Gravatar Do people really think that it's okay to keep illegals here becasue they do crap jobs no one else wants to do?

Someone was doing the crap jobs before they came here. If they cut some welfare rosters, then there would be workers. Besides, there are more downfalls then there are advantages. Prisons and school systems are flooded and way over capacity.

Hospitals emergency rooms are overcrowded. Over 84 hospitals in California alone have closed already because of inundation:

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/ new...RTICLE_ID=43275

The chances of deportation happening aren't looking very optimistic. Illegals were never invited here, they didn't knock before they came in, they have crashed the party and now they are helping themsevles to the beer. Let's have them chip in and help pay for the keg by implementing The Fair Tax: Taxing what is consumed as opposed to taxing income. Income that most legals don't even report to begin with. That way, EVERYONE pays. Not just the honest, working stiffs who do happen to pay the taxes.

And seal the border too of course. The flow has got to stop. The country does not have the financial infrastructure to withstand it. The US will inevitably become a 3rd world country if this does not stop.

Gravatar Whoops....in the above post, it should read "what most illegals don't even report to begin with.

My buzz.

Gravatar You know it's bad when you can't even call yourself an English-speaking American without the PC police getting all worked up.

Gravatar Nihdi,
I am in contact with India often dealing with credit card statements. Except for one guy, all have spoken almost flawless English, and all are very, very nice. I love that you have the actual angle, as you live in India.

Just another, I have NO respect for those who risk their lives to cross the border ILLEGALLY. Who I do have respect for are those who go through the same suck-ass process my husband went through to be here LEGALLY.

Kevin:"Someone was doing the crap jobs before they came here. If they cut some welfare rosters, then there would be workers." I have made this same point several times. Also, use, non violent prison inmates to do outside work. Pick fields, sweep streets etc.

The U.S. is already sinking into the realm of 3rd world cesspool, and unless the bleeding hearts wake up, their gardeners will be living in tent in their front yards.

Gravatar Jenn, By that comment all I meant is that sometimes Doing the right thing isn't doing the legal way. If I was a dirt farmer in mexico with a corrupt government, corrupt cops and drug lords for neigbors sticking around being nothing more than a serf or risk it all to get my family out of there, even if meant doing something illegal I would do it. So on a coneptual level all they are trying to do is do something better with their lives, Which I feel is commendable. On the practical level I agree we just can't hold anymore.

And by using non-violent prisoners to do work I do hope you mean on a volunteer for pay basis right?

Gravatar Volunteer, no. Pay, sure, what's the going rate 60 cents a day?

Gravatar i agree with you.

legal immigration = good.
illegal immigration = bad.

Gravatar I wish they(McLame, "the Cape Cod Orca" , Bush) would cut out the crap of referring to this as a guest worker program. They know damn full well this is nothing more than sugar-coated amnesty. Once one of these guest worker participant's time expires, how does the government propose to make sure that these people leave once their time is up?? They can't even enforce the current immigration laws right now!!

Gravatar The sad thing is Kevin, is it isn't even sugar coated. My hubby is PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gravatar My hubby is PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And rightly so Jenn. He should be pissed. My wife, who is in the same boat as your hubby, is just blown away by the whole predicament! She's in disbelief as to how some of these people get elected into office. Especially the Cape Cod Orca. Anyway, that's a different subject for another day.

Gravatar You know Kevin, it's been 8 years. 8 years he's waited. Not a word. He want's to be an American, he want's to be a citizen. He's jumped through the hoops, and what does he have to show for it????? Not a damn thing.

Gravatar 8 years?? Holy sh*t!! Wow, that means we have a long wait as well. Wonderful! The INS/ICE is the epitome of incompetence and stupidity. Their like talking to Beavis and Butthead as it is. Joy!
