This Is Not A Democracy, It's A Republic........
Jenn, nice topic, and it kinda stirred up some emotions. Just today I was thinking that I am the same age as President George Walker Bush and Former President William Jefferson Clinton.
The sixty club is getting crowded. The first wave of baby boomers are now in control of the world.....G.W.B. is president of the USofA, and W.J.C. will soon to be president of the world....or at least the UN.
I am not a stockbroker, and I don’t play one on the CB, but I think a good stock to invest in at this time would be the company that markets 'Depends'
The baby boomers of 1946 are all dependable......seriously, President George Walker Bush is the most dependable President we have had since Harry Truman. And Bill Clinton is dependable. Yes, he is. If a poll comes out tomorrow that says 71% of Americans sleep without socks, Bill will somehow work that fact into his latest $150,000 an hour speech.
I'm dependable too. I stay between the ditches, keep the shiny side up and pay a ridiculous amount of taxes.
We are all dependable in some way.

The libs have destroyed the prison system across the nation. The Texas penal system used to be self sustaining, makeing their own clothes, growing their own food, building their own facilities. Until a judge decided that that wasnt good for the prisoners, it was better that they sit on their ass watch tv and work out.

I'm all for using prisoners for whatevers needed. Grow their own food, provide labor for state or federal projects, whatever. As long as they're treated ok there's nothing wrong with it. Hell, for most, it would probably be the first time in their lives they did an honest days work.
Here are a few ideas to make illegal immigration less popular:
- Make the detained folks clean up the crap (literally) they or others left in the desert. Don't we have laws against defecating in public, littering, etc. I'd like to think even a tree-hugging, liberal judge would like to keep the environment clean.
- Turn the unfenced areas along the border into missle test ranges or even just small arms firing ranges. After a few "accidents", the prospect of crossing might be less appealing.
- Build a solar powered electric fence. It's good for the environment and cheap to build. Perfect for the libs.
- Turn the border into a toxic waste dump. All the nasty things they spend billions of dollars burying in mountains around the mid-west and mountain states should just be dumped in the open land near the border. Post a few signs, in spanish of course, indicating bad side effects (hair falling out, vomiting, glowing in the dark, etc) and we might see fewer immigrants.
I'll keep thinking of more ideas. Although getting rid of the "baby anchor" law would help. That's a left-over from Carter placating the Cubans and Puerto Ricans - nice job.

Miss Jenn, I think you would make a wonderful president. Enlghtened can be your running mate as he/she has come up with some great ideas.
My only contribution would be to offer the additional suggestion of landmines along the border. And of course a fence - of the great wall variety, with border security driving/walking/riding along the road on top so they could play sniper when needed. I believe it would send a nice message.
