I was in the Navy when James Webb was spouting his shit about women having no place in the military except for support roles. That little number, as Sect of the Navy, let the whole world know that no matter how good you were at your job, if you were a woman in the USN, it would never be quite good enough. This guy is not clear on where he stands on the issues as well. He gives me absolutely no reason to vote for him. His campaign also worked overtime on making sure that the "Macaca" incident was in the headlines weeks after it happened. George Allen apologized for that. He gets my forgiveness.

Allen is a great Senator! If you look at his voting record, he's awesome! Right down the line.
I'll never forget seeing him on Fox News (either last year or earlier this year) when the first vote for the illegal alien measures were being voted on in the Senate. He was so disgusted at the debate; the talk of amnesty, etc (remember how weak the first measure was?). He was outside the chambers and he looked VERY tired and unstatesmanlike and he said something like, " ..this is just so wrong! Our security is at stake and they just don't care." He just shook his head in disbelief and you could just tell how utterly defeated and disgusted he was by what he had witnessed on the debating floor. You could say he was VERY UN-PC at that unguarded moment. While I didn't know him from Jack before then, I think he won my respect and loyalty forever at that point.
I feel the whole purpose of this is because Allen has been looked at as a real contender for President and the MSM not only wish to unseat him, they want to DESTROY him to ruin his chances as a candidate for President. He would have my vote should he decide to run - he would be a good a strong President.

You are correct in your assessment about talk radio and the blogs. Good Grief! I used to be such a lib before I moved east. Then I talked and met people of good common sense and finally saw the light.
Now I live in the part of Northern Virginia that is considered to be very liberal, yet I am now a rabid conservative because of what I've learned on my own personal lifes journey.
The best explanation I've heard is that people who are working, who believe in personal responsibility and are financially secure are republicans - people who are not working or who choose not to work and wish to be designated as victims are democrats. Democrats cannot survive without victims - they are part of the culture of grievences and without victims they have nothing.

Allow me to explain my self to you and to all people here. I do try to get off topic as it were, especially when the topic can bring up frustration and anger at any given politician or Islamofacist because I know that all that is aggrivating and I try my darndest not to allow myself to get so aggrivated again as to have a really bad temper problem like I had done before where I was going off on Teaparty and everyone else. So I use humor and anything else that I can adlib or put together to keep myself from exploding on others.

Thing is, it's so freakin' dry here, all someone has to do is look at a blade of grass funny, and we've got a problem.
3 years ago...that was a different story. Biggest wildfire in CA history was 3 years ago, and it got within half a mile of my house. I'll never forget, untimately, it cost me everything I owned and more.
Yep half a mile away is pretty darn close when it comes to big fires. I have never been that close to one but I was within half a mile away from a very large Tornado one that was on record of a F5.
Even at the distance of a half mile from it I almost had to hang on to trees to move forward because the wind was so powerful.
Well be careful Jenn and keep an eye on that because I want you folks to be safe.

No, I did not live in Ocean View. I lived in and cleaned the "ladies" barracks (Ranger Hall)at NOB Norfolk. Can I just say- those chicks were NASTY and it was a joy to clean the men's barracks. The worst guys do is put cig ends in the urinals. The mind continues to boggle at what the ladies would leave for their shipmates to clean!
I did get an apartment with a boyfriend for a while (can't remember where but NOT Ocean View, thanks very much!)and have nice memories of Waterside (a pub there we dined and dashed) and nice restaurants in Ghent- one of which we also dined and dashed.
After my boyfriend and I broke up- I started hanging out with this guy named Al. Even if we just got paid, Al would look at the check in a restaurant and say, "look at how much this is. I'm not paying that. Go out and start the car".
I'd be like- oh Al, not again- and go out and start the car.
About 5-10 minutes later- Al would come tear-assing out of the restaurant screaming "open the door, open the door!" and I'd peel out.
