What a tremendous loss for Bill Walsh's family, friends, the 49ers, the NFL, and fans everywhere.
Bill Walsh set a standard for excellence for his players not only while on the field, but, more importantly, off the field. We have lost a great coach, philanthropist, and man.
Here's to you, Coach Walsh...

Thank you Deb for that wonderful salute to one of my most favorite people.
I'm really upset at this news. I hate Mondays.

Walsh was a great coach, and had some awesome players with him. It takes a great coach to use those awesome players the right way ...

They were the most well oiled team to ever exist. Thanks to Bill, and Clark, Montana, Lott, Rice and the rest.

I heard this on the radio on the way home and it really broke my heart. When he came to coach was when the Traitors moved to L.A. and that very year he took us to the Superbowl. I've been a fan ever since. We never missed the void left by that OTHER team!
I this day I have my guest bath decorated with most of my 49er stuff.

It's weird, because yesterday I bought a new long sleeve Niner shirt, it's rockin' and I was so stoked about it. I was talking about Alex Smith and the new future of the Niners.....I was going off ab9ut how I wish so bad Bill Walsh would come back.

Man, that sucks! I grew up out east and I was always a Bills fan as a kid (those 4 Super Bowls were hell!!!), but I always liked the Niners too. Sad day.

Sandpiper,
That's pretty low. The topic is a great football coach who has died. Am I out of line when I ask you to save your views of San Francisco for another thread? If so, I apologize.

Yeah Sandpiper, the City By The Bay, the city of my youth is a glorious place, wonderful resaurants, beautiful parks, fantastic museums... damn shame it's packed full of loathesome libtards.
Bill was exempt.

Jenn,
San Francisco Rocks! I love it there. I've never had better Italian food than I've had in San Francisco.
