Uh, yeah. As far as anything the Republican party (or, more precisely, as long as the party involved is not the Democrats) says from the pulpit, that is wrong, and is seen as a violation of the "separation of church and state" - but in this case, since it's a Dem doing it, it's fine, because the tradition is to use the pulpit of a black church to further your political standing.
