Hmmmmm ... no, not really. You're probably in the same boat as we are in Virginia. The state only wants us to live here to provide funds to feed it's insatiable appetite. When citizens vote down tax increases, the state simply creates a way around it and steals more of our money. We exist for the state, not the other way around.
Highest priorities here go to entitlement programs. Can't cut those entitlement programs, no siree. I've figured by the time I retire, my property taxes will have increased so much I'll either have to go back to work, or simply say fuck it and go to city hall and shoot everyone one of the bastards there. I'll probably opt for shooting the fuckers.

It's becoming more and more like the Mafiosa. Folks here in Virginia have consistently voted down all manners of tax increases that will supposedly go for transportation fixes ... telling the politicians that we're at our tax limit, tighten your belts and start cutting to get your money.
So what do they do? Create a "Transportation Authority" and raise fees on everything under the sun. It's a sham and a shame.
