This Is Not A Democracy, It's A Republic........

Gravatar I think both should step down and the DNC could put a statue of Lenin on the ticket. Be just as good.

Gravatar And the lame stream media is PRAVDA with the state socialist party being the KKKrats.

Gravatar But in the meantime...

Gravatar

Hey Look It's Howard Dean

Gravatar Looks like on this side the ousting of Obama is more favored. Don't WE Americans count?

Gravatar I voted for Clinton - Obama will be easy to beat now. The Clintons have a nasty way of stealing elections. Hard to beat fraud.

Gravatar Very good point Wit, but I just fear PC America & the lame stream media playing the RACE CARD. It's effective even in here. Too many would vote for a black just cuz they are black, which is discrimination, plain & simple.

Gravatar Why worry about it? People have a right to vote for a black man if they want to. Why the obsession, Nam? People have a right to vote against your choices. That's democracy. I'm not voting for Obama, but it's not because he's black.

Gravatar I would rather see Obama on the DNC ticket for the same reason(s) as witness.

Gravatar "a".....For Pete's sake...even this time I'll have to defend Nam.... who doesn't need defending...

You see no problem with ignorant morons voting for a man simply based on his skin color? A man who has ties to many very "dubious" characters, including terrorists?

Wow.

Gravatar Of course I do see a problem with it, that goes without saying. But in this country, people have a right to vote stupidly if they want to. There's nothing we can do when an American is alone in the voting booth. And there's something sacred about privacy in the voting booth. To me, that's basic conservative principle. We're even fighting in Iraq so that Iraqi's can have that same sacred freedom. And sometimes you win elections, and sometimes you lose.

Gravatar Actually, Dems never lose...they're always "robbed" and victims of "stolen" elections.

Gravatar And that last one there Kitty....sealed it.

Gravatar What - that people don't have a right to vote as they wish? Ok.

Gravatar No your sarcastic "sacred freedom" comment.

Gravatar Voting is a right, not a privilege. I consider our rights, established by the Founding Fathers, in accordance with the Constitution, sacred. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way Jenn. That's what makes me a conservative.

Gravatar "I consider our rights, established by the Founding Fathers, in accordance with the Constitution, sacred"

What a steaming crock of crap. You believe no such thing. Either that or you're extremely misinformed as to what the Constitution says, and what the founders of this country believed in.

You should read their writings ... no doubt you'll disagree with every word they say. Nothing ... nothing you believe in, has anything in common with what the brilliant men that founded this nation believed in.

Gravatar Can't add anything to that, Dar-buddy!

Gravatar Wrong again Darwin.

Like I wrote - I'm waaaaay more conservative than you guys.

Gravatar In your little delusional world. Socialist nutter.

Gravatar Voting is a right, not a privilege. a/mk

Wrong. It's a privilege, not a right. Why else do you LOSE that right when you commit a felony. Just as you lose your right to bear arms when you commit a felony using a firearm. That's been on the books - well, since the beginning of our founding.

Same thing on a local level when you abuse your "right" to drive a car.

Go ahead - contest it. You will, but you will be wrong.

Gravatar Driving is a privilege, not a right. Look it up.

Voting is a right. One of the rights enumerated in the US Constitution. You know - way before the automobile was invented.

Rights and privileges. Big dif. Think it through.

Do you guys seriously not know that?

Gravatar I know I'm going to regret asking this, but here it goes:

You moronic little twat, WHERE in the Constitution does it say that voting is a right?

Short answer: it doesn't.

Longer, yet still somewhat condensed, answer: the amendments that deal with women being allowed to vote, race not being a basis for denying the vote, and age (18+) not being a basis for denying a vote ALL say the same thing.

That is, that IF states allow their citizens to vote, there are only a handful of minimum standards that states must abide by, i.e. can't deny based on gender, race, or age beyond 18. That's it.

As it turns out, all 50 states do grant their citizens access to the voting booths. But even those states attach conditions, e.g. you can't be a convicted felon. If voting were a federal right (which it's not), then states couldn't enact "no felons" laws or anything like that. Period. Hell, even Jesse Jackson, Jr., has started a campaign to pass a constitutional amendment that grants a federal right to vote. If it were in the Constitution, you mental midget, why would an amendment like Jackson's be needed?

I would have thought that someone who purportedly carries the Constitution in her purse would have at least read that thing a time or two. Then again, that would assume that you're not a lying sack of pinko oxygen-wasting trash, which you are.

Gravatar Oh please. I guess democracy just aint your thing big boy J.

How interesting you bring up the fact that women weren't "allowed" the RIGHT to vote. How interesting that you bring up the fact that blacks weren't "allowed" the RIGHT of free men, to vote. How interesting. Is that what your advocating? Perhaps you are the one who shouldn't have the right to vote?

I suggest you reread the constitution, and the declaration - you know, the one that says that all men are created equal. Whether you like their politics, religion, race or creed, or not, or whether you're a war fetishist or not. And remember what Abigal Addams said to John - "Remember the ladies."

Sleep sound big boy.

Gravatar I guess democracy just aint your thing big boy J.

We don't have a democracy, my ignorant civics class flunk-out. We have a republic. A democracy is a horrible thing, and the Founding Fathers all agreed with that. That's why we have what they set up: a constitutional republic.

How interesting you bring up the fact that women weren't "allowed" the RIGHT to vote. How interesting that you bring up the fact that blacks weren't "allowed" the RIGHT of free men, to vote.

Get Hooked on Phonics, Tranny Porn Queen. I never said the RIGHT to vote. I said "access" to the vote. That's a big difference. If states ALLOW their citizens to vote (which, by definition, would be a privilege and not a right), then there are only the aforementioned federal non-discrimination standards that must be applied. If states wanted to award their electoral votes (or even their votes for House members) based on a game of bingo between the candidates instead of holding a popular vote, that would be 100% legal. And there wouldn't be a thing your talentless ass could do about it. Hip up, asshat.

I noticed you didn't point to the place in the Constitution that mentions the RIGHT to vote. To quote the recent words of an unnamed imbecile: "How interesting." Thanks for proving my point, dipshit. Don't lecture me on reading the Constitution when it's abundantly clear that you haven't, contrary to your bald-faced lies.

Geez, your shit is just WAY too damned easy to debunk.

Gravatar A republic is any state or nation that doesn't have a monarch, big boy. Our system of government is a representative democracy. I always have to explain everything to you.

And what are we doing in Iraq, if not spreading democracy though out the middle-east - at least that's what you rightwingers and Bushies said.

Like fish in a barrel dealing with you. And watch - see all the back and forth, back and forth. You never come up with an original idea or comment ever. It's just puerile back and forth with you.

Gravatar "Our system of government is a representative democracy. I always have to explain everything to you"

You have RUFUS disease.

Our government is a Constitution-based federal republic. If you're going to challenge someone ... be right. In this case you're not.

Gravatar I would have called our system of government a Representative Republic - which is why when a state is split 49-51 all the electoral goes to the winner (although I believe the dems have changed that in their party - at least for the primary's) and half the voters get disenfranchised. That's NOT a democracy - a democracy is mob rule and you end up with hamas in power.

Also, voting IS a privilege - which is why it's taken away when you commit a felony. Felons can NOT vote.

I can't believe you're actually arguing this - everybody but you seems to know this.

Gravatar A republic is any state or nation that doesn't have a monarch, big boy. Our system of government is a representative democracy.

Nice try, Merriam-Webster, but as with all of the rest of the verbal diarrhea that drips from your cakehole, it's wrong.

The United States is, indeed, a republic, not a democracy. Accurately defined, a democracy is a form of government in which the people decide policy matters directly--through town hall meetings or by voting on ballot initiatives and referendums. A republic, on the other hand, is a system in which the people choose representatives who, in turn, make policy decisions on their behalf. The Framers of the Constitution were altogether fearful of pure democracy. Everything they read and studied taught them that pure democracies "have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths" (Federalist No. 10).
[...]
In the strictest sense of the word, the system of government established by the Constitution was never intended to be a "democracy." This is evident not only in the wording of the Pledge of Allegiance but in the Constitution itself which declares that "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government" (Article IV, Section 4). Moreover, the scheme of representation and the various mechanisms for selecting representatives established by the Constitution were clearly intended to produce a republic, not a democracy.

And you still didn't show me where the Constitution says we have a constitutional right to vote. Because you can't. It's not there. That's why there are efforts to pass a constitutional amendment that grants such a right. See, that was your original point, and when I trashed your point as easily and effortlessly as I trash your snuff films, you tried to change the subject...and you still wound up being wrong.

Does your idiocy hurt? If so...good.

Gravatar I never said we weren't a republic, baby boy: I said our system of government is a representative democracy. I guess the only way to convince you is to tell you that maybe even you can chew gun and walk at the same time. Democracy and a Republic aren't mutually exclusive. It's not an either/or. That's the beauty of our great Nation. Too bad you don't appreciate that. It's rather anti-American of you not to even recognize that.

But I guess this proves you're not into democracy, or spreading democracy to the middle east.

Gravatar Blah, blah, ...what's the word I'm looking for? Oh, yes, now I remember...BLAH!

Gravatar See - back and forth with you, and no substance. Bla.

Gravatar God you're an idiot. You can't even admit it when your wrong. The whole argument started because you were talking about the RIGHT to vote. We've been telling you it is a privilege that can be taken away.

As a good little lib, you have now changed the subject. This is why you piss people off.

Gravatar Hey wit ... haven't had a chance to check email until tonite.

Gravatar No problem, Dar-buddy!

Gravatar It's very simple, voting is a right. Women fought for the right to vote. Blacks fought for the right to vote. It's not a privilege.

Gravatar "It's very simple, voting is a right."

We're still waiting for that Constitutional reference...

Gravatar We're still waiting for that Constitutional reference...

We're not going to get it from the imbecile, Henry. She's too humiliated to muster anything beyond a "I'll just keep repeating it, fingers stuck in my ears, I can't hear you, la-la-la-la!" She's been thoroughly obliterated with facts, so the dumbass does what she does best: she just ignores them.

Liberals: why think when you can "feel"?

Gravatar I suggest you read the Constitution, Henry. Then you'd know. I also suggest you research the Supreme Court decisions about blacks having the right to vote, and women getting the right to vote.

Gravatar What did I tell you, Henry? "I'm not listening, la-la-la-la!"

Gravatar Yeah, I know, J.

Just putting it on display for re-affirmation of shitkitty's idiocy.

Gravatar "Im not listening - la la la." That's you all over. 'Splains a lot.

Gravatar We keep asking you, a - where is it in the Constitution that voting is a RIGHT? And if it is a RIGHT why are people trying to AMEND the Constitution to make it a RIGHT?

Gravatar Skip it, Wit. The POS is too stupid to understand.

Gravatar You know witless, that you can look up the Constitution for yourself - it's even on line.

As for amendments - that was to seek justice. You've heard of justice, haven't you. You might just include those amended rights to vote when and if you do look it up, but I doubt you will.

As I've said many times, I'm not here to do your research and your homework for you. But I DARE you to look it up. I DARE you to actually read the Constitution. It would be darn right American of you.

Gravatar You just plagerized me BITCH! Try coming up with an original thought for yourself.

Gravatar As for amendments - that was to seek justice. You've heard of justice, haven't you. You might just include those amended rights to vote when and if you do look it up, but I doubt you will. a

Amendments are the tool put in place at the very beginning of our founding in order to amend the Constitution - to add to it. That is the only way to change it. It's not the evolving "breathing" document libs try to portray it - it is, indeed, set in stone and amendments are the only way to change it. It has been amended to ALLOW women to vote. There is NO right to vote. It's a privilege - which is why it can be taken away.

As I'VE stated in the past (plagerizing bitch) YOU do you're own research. I have copies of the Constitution all around me - and I've actually read it. Try it sometime - although I doubt your reading skills could comprehend the beauty of the document.

Gravatar Just look it up. It's about the Constitution, not about me.

"Allow" women the right to vote.

(Sigh.)

Perhaps someone should take away your right to vote, witless.

Gravatar Kitty, since you're so sure it's in there ... simply show it to us. You know, copy/paste, link. You're the only one that says it's in the Constitution.

Gravatar I'm not here to do your homework for you.

The only people who don't have the right to vote are felons, foreign citizens, and people under age.

Do you seriously deny that?

Have you read the Constitution? It's on line and available to all.

Gravatar HA! She just admitted that felons don't have the right to vote!

That means it's a privilege and can be taken away!

Buusssstteeddd!!!

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

Gravatar "I'm not here to do your homework for you"

Evasion. Simply prove your point or drop it.

Gravatar Fools: felons are denied the RIGHT to vote. Whoooo hoooo! You got me. Good grief Charlie Browns.

Actually, it (the felons thing) depends on the states, and this is an issue that will ultimately be taken up by the SCOTUS. As it was with women, etc.

Amendments, right, witless?

Now we're entering the realm of philosophy and actual law (something beyond most of your scopes.) What is a "right" if it isn't something agreed to by the citizenry, via laws. Jeez. I have to explain everything to you guys.

Gravatar The sound of rightwingeres heads exploding.

Gravatar Now it's trying to redirect. To disseminate. Busted, bot! Busted!

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

Gravatar Projection. Of the psychological sort.

Gravatar buuuuuuuuussstteeeedddd!

Gravatar I rest my case.

Gravatar Fuck off shitkitty.
