I have been over there many times, I lived in El Paso for years, and there is a HUGE sign that says NO GUNS, hell, it even has a pic for those that no comprende... A pic of a gun and the red slash cirle thingy...
This is a really sad thing to have happen, and I DO hate it, but ya know, Forrest Gump said it best, 'Stupid is as stupid does', and if he took a gun into Mexico, he made a really dumb move, intentional or not...
And one other thing, unless this guy was REALLY drunk, there is NO WAY that he crossed the border from El Paso into Juarez accidentally...
Well, we got all kinds of CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS ILLEGALLY crossing the border and NOTHING IS DONE TO THEM.
We should have a trade one thousand worthless illegal criminal aliens for this guy. We can round up this many in a day, lol.
Mexico treats their illegal aliens horribly and deports them pronto!!!
I hate to break the bad news to you Nam, but Mexico doesn't want the illegals back! They bring in too much money for them.
Maybe threatening them that we'll deport their citizens if we DON'T get our guy back!!!

Fred's correct here, though one would expect the suckling nation would apprehend the soldier and take him back across the border rather than incarcerate him.
