I have actually enjjoyed Buckley over the years. I watched his tv show back in the 60's. I was quite taken with the fact that he frequently had female guests who were experts in their fields. This was rarely done then.

He had a good run, but I'm really sorry he's left us. The world will be a lesser place without him.

I can imagine the sympathy coming from the left like they did when Reagan passed. Or they won't even acknowledge it like they ignore lower temperatures and the anniversary of 9/11.
He left us a legacy. RIP sir.

Buckley spoke and wrote on so many levels above the competence of the general electorate as to be primarily unappreciated.
Leaving him, of course, TOTALLY unknown by the Religious Left.

William F. Buckley was a conservatives, conservative. He knew the true meaning of the word and wrote from his heart and his passion daily. He believed in a better America, an America our founding fathers would be proud of.
Unlike the Phony Rating Whores like Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Cunningham, Proctor, Conlon and Vantul’s. Buckley wrote and spoke for the real conservatives and their beliefs.
All you have to do is Google, “William F. Buckley on Bush” or “William F. Buckley on Iraq” to see his distaste, dislike, distrust, and disbelief of George W. Bush and his failed Iraq policies. He wrote recently in the National Review about how Bush’s War in Iraq will come back to haunt the USA for years to come. He wrote what many of us real conservatives knew was a huge mistake about going into Iraq and how we should have stayed the course after the real enemy in Afghanistan.
He lived unlike many with blinders on and didn’t hesitate to speak out against fake conservatives.
He will be missed, his writings will be missed, his passion will be missed.
RIP, Mr. Buckley.
