I think Palin stepping down is one of the most inherently stupid things she's ever done. Period.
Possibly ... but she's not playing by their rules. As governor, she had to. They had her boxed in a corner and she took that away from them.
What a lot of people don't understand about Palin is she did it for the reasons she said. She actually means what she says. She resigned because she was no longer an effective governor for Alaska. It had nothing to do with any future aspirations.

I understand Darwin, but still she was elected by the people of Alaska to serve. She had very little time left in that position. All she had to do was say,"I will not be running for governor again in 2010."
I mean if she can't even handle being attacked by the vile media whores, then how is she a strong candidate for President? I mean let's be fair here. I consistently rip Obama a new hole for his complete and total inability to handle any kind of shit thrown his way, but it's expected of of a pansy assed fucker like him.
Palin? I expected a bit better than running. Do the job you were hired to do and then we'll talk. Sorry, not that she was really on my "list" but now she is completely off it. And it would take a lot for me to change my opinion on this. But hey, she's got 3 years to work on me.

I mean if she can't even handle being attacked by the vile media whores, then how is she a strong candidate for President?
Who says she can't handle being attacked? She has never whined about anything anyone has ever said about her ... from Sandra Bernhard wanting her gang of black men to rape her, David Letterman calling her a slut or anything the worthless media has said.
She has however, every right to respond to people who attack her children, but more than once she has said the personal attacks aimed at her are expected.
If you actually listen to her speech, or read the transcript, it'll tell you why she left. The Alaska democrats were told to tie her hands and generally make it impossible for her to move her agenda. Only through sheer determination did she get the NG pipeline deal done. She's leaving so things can get done. With her there, the dems and the corrupt Republicans fight everything she tries. She's the distraction. That's not what she wants, nor is it what she thinks the people of Alaska deserve.
The frivolous attacks and complaints were hamstringing the government. Once she's gone I have no doubt the complaint process will be changed. As it stands right now, it's being used strictly as harassment.
She's ineffective as governor. That's why she left. If she can't get anything done she changes the rules and the game. That's her MO. When she was appointed Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Commission the oil/gas and political establishment fought her tooth and nail and she couldn't get anything done. What did she do? She resigned and ran for governor and cleaned house.
She's not a quitter by any stretch.

I think the "lame duck" excuse was, well, lame.
The thing that makes someone a lame duck is themselves. If you chose to sit there and do nothing you are a lame duck. If you keep at it even tho thru no fault of your own you arent successfull you are not a lame duck.
The NATIONAL media onslaught against her is unwarrented and it probably did hinder her effectiveness in Alaska

Yeah, but that's not how it would have been reported or portrayed. Now they can't report it. She accomplished everything she said she was going to ... a little over two years into her term.
Like I said, she's not going to play by their rules and let them control what she does.
It's definitely unorthodox, and leaves her open for some negative hits. It all depends on what she does now.

"Yeah, but that's not how it would have been reported or portrayed." -D
Dar I know that. Still, she only had less than a year. It was not in MY opinion a good move. She could have come out and said...."Hey do you know what these fuckers are costing this state for their personal witch hunt against me? Here let me show you", and then do so. Turn it around.
In this case, no matter if she truly was a viable candidate, the lame stream media will never let her rest and they will dig this "quitter" speech out until she retires from politics.
The sheeple will forever bag on her. And too many stupid people think she is just a dumb hick and would never vote for her. She's certainly not dumb, nor a hick but they think she is and unfortunately, they vote.

A $30,000 an hour attorney? Palin report overstates inquiries' costs

Never miss a McClatchy story
By Sean Cockerham | Anchorage Daily News
There's some double counting and other problems with a spreadsheet outlining $1.9 million in state costs for ethics complaints, public records requests and lawsuits directed at Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
The administrative director in the governor's office, Linda Perez, conceded that some costs were counted twice and said "the total cost is overstated by $26,849." She said she missed that the Department of Law's updated numbers included costs that were already counted.
"It was my error . . . mea culpa," said Perez, who has worked for governors of both parties since the 1980s.
Perez said she's going to ask the Department of Law about some other puzzling parts of the spreadsheet, including a line item that says 0.3 attorney hours added up to $10,063 in costs.
That would add up to an attorney billing of over $30,000 an hour, and Perez said the flat billing rate the state uses for its attorneys is $121.98 an hour. Perez said she would check and see what costs beyond the staff time went into that calculation of over $10,000 in costs.
There are also discrepancies between two pages provided by the administration detailing attorney hours on ethics complaints. For example, one sheet lists 119.4 attorney hours adding up to $14,564.41 for work on an ethics complaint, but the other page says it was 13.3 attorney hours adding up to almost the same amount, $14,565, for work on that same "Troopergate" related complaint.
Perez said she'll check with the Department of Law on this

Dang! Slave you are absolutely disgusting. Just get your puckered ass out of here. You're not even amusing anymore - your just plain disgusting! Just GO!
As to the post - I agree with darwin! In just over 8 months there have been 15 frivolous ethics viloation lawsuits against her. In another 6 months it would be 30. In another year it would be over two hundred.
Notice what even Fox news says about her? Sarah Palin has had 15 ethics violations brought against her with nary a word of explaining that every single one of them have been dismissed! If even the "fair and balanced" news show doesn't qualify or explain all these lawsuits, then what will stick in peoples minds is that she has a gaggle of ethics lawsuits brought against her.
ALL on the Alaskan peoples dime! This was straight from Soros and Obama playbook. They fear her and wanter her slimed! She stole their weapon of chose. Good on her!
