Update from Maryland. February 26th the bill was heard in the Judiciary and Ways and Means committee. Does not look like the Bill is going to survive committee. The bill sponsor and Mr. Ford (patent holder and supposed expert on the technology)really did not hold up well under questioning.
Experts from Remington, Federal, and the NRA submitted verbal and written testimony that really caught Mr. Ford and the sponsor unprepared. The committee members were able to get out of Ford that he stands to make a significant amount of money if this legislature goes trough which one of the committee members came back with that they hope he never makes a dime off of this patent.
So, we will keep up the fight. Just wish our Attorney General of Maryland was as forward thinking and open minded as Hawaii's, we wouldn't needed to miss another day of work.
