Talk to the Goat

i always believed that what's important is what comes after the wedding. i was right.

Awwww, such a sweet story (except for the herpes). The presents have got to be the best part of getting married! Oh and the loving partner isn't too bad either, lol!

Second wedding receptions can be fun - but I know what you mean about the wedding crashers! Beautiful pics! Glad you had fun! Hooray!

Gorgeous pictures! And your hair! (both the windblown and the cemented styles)looks beautiful!

It never ceases to amaze me that others feel they have the right to ruin someone's wedding, but sometimes that's what makes the event memorable! It's good that you're not bitter about it! I had 11 people at my wedding, including the bride and groom and no herpes so I'm unable to relate to any of your story. I'll just enjoy it instead!

Aww it all worked out and presents Wow, we got gypped. I didnt even bother with heels.. i wore white leather Sketchers the whole time. DH's grandma was appalled she told me to "be sensible" Thats when I pointed out how sensible i was being. She hollar "well then be traditional!" She knew better though.. I'm not traditional..

I love the wedding cake picture...you both have great expressions and look *so* cute.

But all that rigamarole, maybe I'll try and avoid getting hitched. (Well, at least pretend better that I'm avoiding it on purpose.)

If I ever get married I want to do it like that. It sounds like it was adventurous, fabulous, and very memorable. You made a beautiful bride, and your hubby is quite the handsome devil himself.

Lordy, after reading this extensive double saga (and let me clobber you over the head with this the next time you claim that *I* go on too long), I'm reconsidering this whole marriage thing.

If you get a string of irate emails from my highly significant other, you'll know why.

That said, the NEXT time you have a gathering that large and are worried about irritating family members gatecrashing, consider hiring the only guard in the world that doesn't fall asleep. Not only will I work for peanuts (salted in the shell, please), I take pictures of the lucky contestants when they find out what it's like to be pinned and roped like a rodeo steer.

Ah, the hell with it. I'm still going to marry her. And I happen to like cooked rice...

sheesh forgot to put my name on my comment. It was I.. I wore white leather sketchers! HAZAH!

Awww.. I just love reading your stories, the sweet, the funny, the insightful. Thank you for sharing your life and these beautiful photos!

Another great story, and aren't you lucky, most brides only get to wear their dress once.

Ms Mac - I had way less than 11 at my wedding - it was only the reception that had the big crowd; and frankly, we just love parties, we couldn't resist.

Becky - watch yourself. I never planned on getting married either. Believe it or not, it was my husband who convinced me it couldn't possibly be SO bad. He has never crossed me again, the boy learned his lesson well!

Fidget - I think we could have guessed that was you!

Oh and Rimmy - we did hire someone to be at the door, but of course he wasn't as vigilant as he should have been, and drunken exes have a way of getting in! Next time, I'll definitely fly you out.

p.s. Don't tell Jason I just said there'd be a next time!

a good time was had by all, eh what?

JQP

What a lovely gown.

And hey- at least you can laugh about everything now!

Right? RIGHT?

Like he'd listen to me anyway.

Did I mention what a beautiful bride you were? I think I have seen you two on top of a cake somewhere before!

Jay, Remember this?

You may want to check it out. It's yours for the night!

Tell me what you think...lol

Forget my last comment. Sometimes things come back to haunt you, and I chickened out.

you guys look amazing together, I love these photos...and well...if it was a perfect day THEN I'd be worried...

I really think you should email me, lady. I think you could help put me at ease, and that I deserve it because I'm freaking great. Also, you just should.

I loved your wedding stories. They have the same sort of spontineity that I'm hoping for, and also the same underlying more-important-thing of absolute and true love. I know that's what will eventually happen with Bruce and I's wedding, but at the same time, all the planning that people are telling me that I ought be doing is scaring the ever-loving-mother-fucking shit outta me.

I'm sure you understand.

In any case, Give Me A Write, if you feel like it. I'm as not-obsessed with weddings as you Are, so maybe we could find a balance somewhere.

Wanted to tell you, also, that I read your blog every day, whether I comment or not. You always give me something new to think about, and for that, I thank you.

You both look fabulous

just beautiful.

Stunning pics of both of you, but especially the bride! You both look radiant. We had plenty of dancing at our wedding, too. Loved reading this.

Nice story Jay.
Makes me think back to my wedding. What a great beginning!
