Talk to the Goat |
an excellent idea! |
You know, you're really awesome. What a nice thing to do, you just brightened up my afternoon a whole bunch! |
Jay - |
The Pink makes you look like Pinky (i think it was her name), from Grease! |
PS. you know your side bar is really wonky? |
Lets home the next dress recipient has as many fond memories...I Liked the red...and you wore them all well! |
Now those are some kick-ass dresses. Pink is my favourite since the hair looks awexome and matches! |
sadly we don't have those sort of occasions over here *sigh* shame, I've got a lilac wedding dress that'd fit the part lovely for some lucky lil lass. |
That was very noble of you to give up something that held so many memories. Now it will bring good memories to someone who might not normally get the chance to experience their prom in dignity. I applaud you. |
After your crotchless pants reference I had a little slip when reading. I read your next sentence as: |
I love the pictures of you in the stuff you're trashing. Nice angle! |
Woo woo! You sexy blog vixen, you! Meow. I like the red. The white was ballsy - but you pulled it off well. I could never wear white so confidently these days. And the pink is just too cute, hair and all!! |
Anna, thanks for reminding me of another great Red memory: |
Not only are you awesome. |
YOu look lovely in them all. Doing the right thing is always the hardest and most rewarding path though. A toast to you *clink* |
The girls who get those dresses will build brand new memories because of your unselfishness. See, you did a good thing, a really good thing. And hell, you were Pink before Pink was Pink! |
wow. worn out crotches. 4 inch heels. coloured hair. plastic leis. and king&queen crowns to boot! was that a closet or a time machine? |
i love you, girl. you are beautiful and your heart more so. all the good vibes from your dresses will make some prom kitty really happy. |
After reading this, I decided to give all my dresses to charity. Imagine my amazement when I found out that some greedy bastard had already swiped them from my closet. |
I'm wearing your white dress right now...Thanks Jay! |
lady in red. way to go. you got to the back of the closet, which says alot of your tenacity. |
i love the red! but red's always been my fave colour when it comes to clothes so i'm biased. never have the guts to wear white but you pulled it off great! and attitude in pink... wow |
Dresses? Its so hard for a guy like me to comment on a subject like that!.......especially since i gave all mine away.....damn i gotta stop writing my thoughts down, screw what my therapist says |
We have a giant neighborhood garage sale coming up in a few weeks, your post gives me an idea. I'm going to sell those dog booties and reindeer antlers that some misguided humans tried to get me to wear when I was a puppy. Then, I'll donate the money to a good cause. That way I'll be rid of the $%@* things, but I'll feel bad that some human will put them on their dog and the cycle of humiliation will continue. On second thought, it's time to stop the madness - I'm just going to chew them all to shreds now to protect the innocent. I don't care what fallout is from all of this, a dog has to do what he has to do. Am I rambling again? 'Cause you know I hate when I do that . . . |
I love spring cleaning as well - I dont like lots of clutter and get rid of loads - I have a real problem getting rid of clothes though even if they are wrecked - when I find clothes I like I hang on to them until they are ready to be ripped up for dusters lol |
you look so damn hot in those gowns, oh my GOD. and i mean that in a purely professional, freindly way.... |
What a nice thing to do. Me? I COLLECT dresses. I'm a dress junkie. It's an addiction I don't think I could ever give them up. You're far braver than I. (I have been considering giving a few of the more prom-ish ones to a charity, though. I agree, a dress is meant to be worn and loved. Every girl deserves to feel like a pretty pretty princess!) |
You are a beautiful woman Jay. And that is an excellent idea for formals! I would have to work up to, being able to part with them....Clothes are kep't, like you, a lot of times for sentimental reasons. |
how pretty, |
Well, Jay- |
What a great idea Jay. If I can pry my old stuff out of the hands of my youngest daughter, I might be able to do something noble.... |
a coupla things. First, a friend of mine once told me that we should look at "things" as experiences. That makes it easier to let go. You will always have those experiences in your mind (and the pic's...love them). |
It is very hard to let go of the clothes/things that remind you of those good times, but it's wonderful that you did. And what a fun post, to boot. So they really did serve you one last time. I have to say that even the billowy taffeta ones with butt bows can have a useful second life. I picked up a particularly over-the-top dress at a thrift store to wear as the "Queen" at my young daughter's princess birthday party, and I think that that touch was one of the most exhilarating for her. |
Wow Jay, you look really HOT in all three pics. I especially like the red one you wore to your prom. |
Jennifer, that's lovely indeed. |
I love your taste. Those dresses will make some girls very happy! |
you look gorgeous in those dresses!!! |
Stunning photos as usual Jay. I'm sad I'll never see them again either, but I'm sure you'll make me feel better by asking me to take you out dress shopping! |
I like that the same plant is always accompanying you! |
Great observation, Ro! |
What beautiful dresses! And how wonderful to pass them on to someone else. |
I'm really jealous of that pink hair... maybe time for new poll on hubbie's sight!? |
Somewhere there is a joke or witty comment to be made regarding the plant that appears in two of the photos. |
