Observations from me:
a) Why is Britney all shiny? If they could Photoshop a head on couldn't they not make her look like a sweaty monster?
b) This old computer makes me nervous. It catches fire twice a day on average and it's starting to rust.
c) I have to admit that I like George too. In a "would like to hang out sometime and have a few beers with" kind of way. Not in the "lusty, drooly way" some of you ladies do.
d) I hate the letter D.
Holy lord, I think I've found the place to get a good laugh and lighten up! If I was BritS and found your blog, I would crawl into a hole in Siberia and never come out again. The two things from your list that kill me:

the thing that bugs me about George is that CBC seems to be marketing him as the next in the line of great finds stolen from CITY-TV. you know, after Avi Lewis and Daniel Richler. i think he's not at their level, but, still, he is interesting.

As for George, I am sort of neutral about him. Half the time I like him, and the other half the time I find him to be a patronizing asshole. Maybe it's just because he's a luckier Jorge than I am. Either way, he did a good job defending Tommy Douglas. But then, that was pretty much in the bag anyway. No one holds a candle to rex Murphy for creative insults, anyway.

Meepers, funny you should ask that. I have never seen Dr. Who in my life, but through the miracle of Ms. Mac, I have been introduced to the world of Who.

Um, yeah, I like Britney. Any of the old MMC gang pretty much has sentimental value to me. That show just ruled. Though I think more of the older gang should have hit it big rather than just all the newbs.

I was filtering through my basement crap the other day and came across some old magazines, etc. I saw a pic of Britney when she first got famous and couldn't believe how innocent she looked....she has fallen a looooong way in a few short years!
okay so on the whole vj thing... i am so so happy that CBC scored Sook-Yin for DNTO on saturdays. makes me very happy. sook-yin makes me happy.
i once saw her interview ani difranco, and they were trading stories about seeing photos of themselves and realising that they had airbrushed or cropped the photos so to not show the terrible terrible armpit hair.

Ok, call me a kill-joy (everyone else does) but I can't hate Britney, only be heartbroken by her.
At like 12 or 13 she was ultra-sexualized with her parent's consent. I would like to see a psychological comparison to her and child prostitutes, I imagine the damage would be similar, especially since all of this happened in the public eye!
I actually cheer for her when I see her looking skanky and white-trash. Finally she is learning how to be herself, not what people want her to be. (I realize how funny that sounds)
Girls all over the world have been victimzed by this pathological idealization of a virgin-lolita. This image was sold, by the entertainment industry and her parents, with Britney as the ultimate victim. I hope she survives this (I am concerned she may not) and I hope that she raises her child differently than she was raised. No little child deserves that.

Tiger, yup, that was totally my feeling. It's hard to watch white men in suits rehash the same view point over and over. Not only does George not fit the mould, neither does his "newscast", but more on that later.
Your use of the F-bomb is so wonderful...in fact, I told my father to stop using "fucker" and use fucktwat instead. He was appreciative of the new term.
My iMac is a POS too...we could start a support group for ourselves and drink ourselves blind.

Martha, I have no doubt that given some time, everyone will know George. He's a stand up guy. And I say that based on absolutely nothing, I've never met him and most likely never will, but I enjoy him, and I do have excellent taste.
