it wasn't until i had kids that i ever figured out what "it's better to give then receive" meant. the happiness you feel by finding that perfect gift for someone else, knowing that you are making them feel so happy, it really is a wonderful thing

Its amazing what men do when you buy them gifts like that. I know J would have a hay day with a PS2. He had one a used one but sold it and wants a new one sometime. I would ask how that bra and your skirt went missing but I think alot of those that read your blog have already asked that one enough. LOL...

a painted toilet seat? That's unusual. I do understand about hoping that your favorite skirt returned of it's own will, but the slut was already off and on it's own adventure.

I used to crash funerals of the Chinese variety back in Malaysia in my youth. It helped that a friend's father was the caretaker of the cemetary and knew when the big ones were happening. There was always the tradition of the last feast with the departed before the burial... and involved the best of the best in food... including roasted pig. I attended an average of 2 a week when I was 12 or 13.
You never fail to leave me with a smile, Jay. You really need to start being the noveled-novelist. Really.

What was your aunt thinking? I also do not get the custom of posing with a corpse, although I actually know people who have done so. I would not like to be photographed after death when I look terrible, one assumes, and can't destroy the negatives.

You only ever great stories to share. It's so cool. Last night I found the strength to give away this perfect little grey skirt I loved so much but had not been able to wear for the last 10 years and was secretly waiting to fit into it again... But I'm proud of myself for letting go. lol. I do think it's weird when someone never saw Star Wars. My best movie I never watched is Titanic, no intention ever.

Worst gift I ever got:
My Aunt wrote me a cheque for $50.00, I deposited it and my bank immediately gave me the funds. Unbeknownst to me, the cheque had been written on a closed account but would bounce very shortly. I spend the $50.00 the bank had advanced me and a day later learned that the rubber chaque would cost me an additional $10.00 NSF fee. So a gift that should have been $50.00 actually cost me $60.00 (because of course I had to repay them the $50.00 they'd advanced, and I'd spent).
Next year I'll just ask my Aunt to kick me in the nuts and we'll call it a day.
