Talk to the Goat

Never change Jay.
(Unless, of course, YOU totally decide to)

It never ceases to amaze me - how people find comfort hiding behind anonymous comments.

I'll stay regardless. The goat has much wisdom and her magic is strong indeed.

Right on Jay!

Oh Thank goodness, I thought you were going to say you were giving it up altogether.

Welcome BACK. Can't wait for all the news!!

Awesome! Get back on that goat! It's like riding a goat! Goat goat goat!

i just can't wait to see that young goat again...
Thanks.

i have a blog reading hard-on

I've missed reading about your exciting life. I'm glad you're coming back.

Hells yeah. Seriously. Now that I'm a mommy, I live vicariously through you. I love hearing your stories and would never want the Readers' Digest versions.

If I'm ever in the Toronto area I'm finding you to beg you to take me on one of your adventures. You could seriously charge admission.

yes.please.

Looking forward to hours of reading entertainment coming.

WOOHOO! I, for one, am happy to hear it! I shall refrain from telling you what not to do.

I guess I might have been one of those "who worried about your safety". I am not sorry that I worry but I am sorry if it made you uncomfortable in your own blog. I do apologise. That was never my intention. I will remind myself that the goat is tough and street-wise (probably a lot more than the squirrel). So I do hope that you will reclaim your blog for yourself and look forward to more excitement and intrigue at the goat.

chronic addicted bloggers, we just don't know when to quit....its always fun to bounce back on the blogtrain

Hope to read more soon

N

Yay! Glad you've reclaimed your blog coz there's only so much I can take from reading (and re-reading) your older posts. To be honest, whenever I click your blog and it hasn't been updated, I get a lil bit disappointed. So this is wonderful news to me! )

Well I miss the goat too. The one before the marriage tanked. It was more interesting then. You wrote about all sorts of things not just about sex and men or sex with men...

I know it sounds crazy but that subject does get boring after awhile even if you are an amazing writer.

I do get that what's going on with you but yeah, I miss the variety that there used to be. Sex is great but it's not all there is.

I don't blog anymore because all I have to talk about is toddler, new baby stuff... borrrring!

Hear hear!

I'm glad you're coming back. I enjoy reading about your adventures, but even more than that I love the way you write. Your words delight me, intrigue me, and shock me...sometimes all in the same post. I enjoy the outrageous as well as the mundane topics.

Shame on those who chastise you for using this space the way we all use our own spaces...as OUR spaces for OUR thoughts.

I've said for sometime to anyone who will listen that reading quality writing makes you a better writer... Which means this news is spectacular for me!!!

Jamie's coming back full force, and I'm going to get a sudden burst of talent infusing readable material to fuel my own various written material! SWEET!

Well now, you see what I mean?

Even when I write a post about how people I don't know try to censor me, just a few comments in and I'm getting exactly that.

To "Jen" - if you don't like the content, GET THE HELL OUT. I think I stated that in the body of the post, but I neglected the caps, so I'm sorry if it wasn't blunt enough for you.

I'm positive that I do indeed write about sex far too often, probably because I've been having it far too often. However, a quick glance at my past ten posts and what do I see? My 500th post, a post about a truck (and friendship), a post about my volunteer work, about the first delicious ice cream of the summer, about working in an office, about my abhorencefascination with karaoke.....

Yeah.
Get out.

Thanks to everyone else - especially those kind people who lie through their teeth to say nice words at me like "wisdom" and "entertainment". I totally owe you a drink!

I'm so glad to hear that you're reclaiming - this is YOUR 'home', and those that don't like it can click the red 'x'...the rest of us will be here loving the hell out of it!

xo

And to the anonymous emailer who said they missed Jason because of what he did for my blog:

When deciding whether or not to allow my schizophrenic ex to rob me and beat me any longer, I definitely sat down and considered the rammifications to my blog.

Oh no wait.

I didn't. Actually, I thought: broken ribs bad, leaving good.

Fuck you too.

Yes. Write. Do. Please.

::dabbing sweat off the brow:: for a moment there I thought you were dumping the goat.

I'm so glad you are not.

Cheers!

Brava, Goat. I stopped writing my own blog to take stock of my life and get a new grip on the end of the rope--it's nice to see you've got a good grip on those goaty horns. *s*

long live the goat!

Thank God, when I first started reading this post I thought you were going to shut down!

As a woman who got over many men by getting under many, many more...I find singleness to be the very best time to be chronicling your life on a blog. It's more interesting for the readers anyways...look what's happened to my blog--BORING. But I'm not complaining!

Yes there have been times in your troubled recent past that many of us have worried about you, but about how you were doing, not what you were writing about. So I say good for you darlin'! It's YOUR blog and you are allowed to write about whatever YOU want to. Even doin' the funkay monkay.

Oh and Happy Canada Day Jay!

i'm guilty as charged.
i hate that i come across as a worrying mother type, but that's what i am.
i've also mentioned that i miss jason, but i think what i meant to say was that i miss reading how happy you were when things were good with jason, i hope you are able to recapture that for yourself.
i love how you are able to really express yourself on this blog, in the past you have shared feelings about your childhood to give us (the readers) some of it funny, some of it very raw that brought me to tears.
cheers to a happy life for you sweet jay.

What they all said---I love your writing and I vociferously defend your right to live and write about it.

Welcome back!

This is the best news! I want to read it all. I won't write a song about it without your permission, however.

Yay!!! No advice (except when you decide to travel, come via paradise - I may not be the best party partner but it would be free board!)

substance over style my dear. substance over style

Whew! I thought the goat was gonna get put down. Go Jaime go!

Stay The Same!

I'll be sticking around for more Jamie. I have no reason to leave. I like what you write and the way you write.

So there: Keep on doing what you do best!

Yay! Great to see the goat back in her glory!

I liked reading about your hell raiser period. Blogs are more interesting when they change and reflect the different stages of a persons life. Glad to see that you are feeling revitalised and ready to start with renewed vigour.

Jay,
I didn't realize that bothered you so much. I am very sorry to have "spoken" to you like a child that can't take care of herself. I really didn't mean it that way.

I am glad to here your wild stories are back. I'll drink a dirty martini to that!

I hope we can still be friends.
-Andy

As a writer (I didn't say published writer), I appreciate this space very much. Sure, there are times when you do things that have me shaking my head. I can get wood and still disapprove of the inspiration for it, right?

My writer side also enjoys this because I don't and never did hang out with people who (beknownst to me) enjoyed or engaged in casual sex. I though that happened only in movies and on TV.

I'm actually glad that you showed me that those women really exist after I waited until I was 19 to go "all the way" and got married when I was 21. Otherwise, I might have wound up a sex fiend, the dirty-minded uncle who "accidentally" walks through the house making sure all the ladies see his big puhtenis, then finds that isn't enough and starts doing it on the streets.

Just sayin'. Thanks.

i love it! i'm glad you're sticking around!

Glad to hear you're back! I've missed you. Can't wait to see what you come up with. 2 quick thing:

1. If I've appeared judgemental, apologies up front, since it's not my place. If you want judgements from me, just ask, I'll be happy to give them.

2. Email Se7en (http://evil-se7en.com/) for a blog upgrade. He did mine for a nominal fee and did a great job. Then you can concentrate on writing.

Dude, i thought you were going to break up with the goat when i first read this and had a mini buildup to a living-vicariously-through-others heartbreak. T'was rough. Am SO glad i was wrong (but of course! why would anyone let a crazy sex life get in the way of blogging!? Tch.)

And really? People were complaining about it? I mean, they do realise what the internette is for, right?

ps: you rock

Oh, thank GOD!! Fuck the naysayer's, bring it all back!

I'll be looking forward to more goaty goodness to come I think the interesting thing about all the "parental type" comments you've gotten as of late is that in some ways it just reflects how well you've connected with your readers. You share so much with us that you transcend being just a writer whose stuff we like to read--you become a friend that we genuinely care about and then some people feel that it's their duty to scold or express concern or whatever. But of course it's your prerogative to keep on tellin' it like it is (and thank god that's what you're choosing to do!!)

I've been waiting for this for months. For reals.

And I'm so very glad you're doing this rather than breaking up with the Internet, Jamie.

Yay for more goaty goodness... for a long time to come!

yay!

glad to hear it! Your posts have been few and far between! Get back on the Goat!

Amen - sister! Keep blogging - blog about anything you want ... most importantly, make me laugh!

after all these years, I still love you..

XOXO etc...

Seriously?! No need to be rude. I was stating an opinion, constructive criticism? which I guess is wrong? I said I love the way you write I just don't like all the sex posts which I don't read. I just skip over them to the non sex posts which are great. Nothing against sex here, I actually love erotic lit. I just prefer your other posts.

I'm not saying do it my way, just that I liked previous stuff better. Do what the hell you want it's your blog.

If I didn't like your blog I wouldn't check back daily for updates.

Oh, hooray! i want more goaty goodness. As long as you know that all the patronising stuff is 'cos we love you. You write so well it's a shame to hide it away. I never really know what is fictional and what is autobiographical with blogs, yours is no exception. I look forward to more antics with the goat!

Happy Canada Day!

Good for you. Fire up on your bad self.

phew - I thought you were breaking up with us.

Glad to hear you're keen on the sharing again. Look forward to reading about whatever it is you wanna share.

Hey, as long as you aren't leaving us, it's all good. Can't wait for the juiciness!

I hate anonymous commenters. Good for you! Come back and tell all.

Sorry for the concern I showed--
And the care….
Sorry for the love letter I sent
And the worries I shared.
Pardon my encouragements,
And all the blind faith I could spare.
And disregard my chaste queries,
Sweet asides that hadn’t a prayer.

The Goat is BACK!!!

I've been worried about you. As for the few critics out there, I will sent my army of loyal prostitutes after them.

Ok, only Norm McDonald has a loyal army of prostitutes, but you get my meaning. Don't let some scuz decide what you can or cannot write.

WRITE ON!!!

Now back to the drinking.

This blog is yours, to write what you please as you please. The worst censorship is self-sensorship, so do stop it and retake your blog!

And in the name of freedom, Happy Canada Day!

I love the goat too !! Sometimes the goat needs to rest, recuperate...it's too bad they don't have day spas for the goat..Be careful on those knees!!

Jay nice to see you back again. I am sorry you felt you had to stop blogging because of others. But there are many more of us that love reading your blog than those that say you bore them.. I love reading here. Its so mysterious how you start your posts out. Making us Guess what you are talking about at first until the end when you get to the main point. Thank you or not stopping totally.

Eh? Happy Canada Day and all. Learned at MJ's infomaniac all about Canada. If you not already know that place, have a look, it's worth it.
Rejuvenating? Didn't notice it getting old. Remember Otto the Repo-Man? Just do it and don't give a damn.

Something I found.

http://www.blogto.com/blogerati/..._kill_the_goat/

And now get up, will ya? We're not in church here...

Welcome back! I can't wait to start reading the goat again!

EXCELLENT! I LOVE the way you magically weave a tale.

Hey, I'v been playing hookey - but I'm so glad to pop in here and read this post! You are one of the top bloggers in my world and while I sometimes have to tell myself "she has to be making this up, right?" I'd never chastise you. And your book reviews are the best!

You what would be a crazy thing to blog about? Getting drunk and making a video clip of you dancing.

(shameless plug)

Help FMLP with her video project at http://foldmylaundryplease.blogs...an-appreciated/

See a sample of the clip I submitted at http://andyswww.blogspot.com/

When I don't write it's because I've got nothing to say. But then again, I'm also very lazy and leading a hectic work life - not even fun!!! Glad to keep reading you every once in a while, you're brilliantly talented and possibly hate the compliment but deep inside you feel warm and smug and that's the way it should be, just like drinking dirty martinis. Curious about la petite anglaise now?

You're by far the most risque blog I regularly read, but you're also one the most talented writers around and you have a wicked sense of humor and I'm glad the goat is sticking around. Now, I got to go take French lessons.

Good for you! Don't take lip from anyone. If they don't like it, they shouldn't be reading.

Look forward to new titillating adventures! Kill the Phoenix!

Woot! The goat is BACK, baby!! You've got a lot of happy followers out here!

Honestly, I will never understand why the naysayers can't just stop reading if they are bored, offended, whatever. People are so very odd.

I'm glad your back in love. We woulda missed you.

Yay for Jay!

What the hell is wrong with people who can't leave a girl to blog in peace?

We love the goat any which way she want's to roll.

Bring it on goat!

We love you so.

I know exactly what you mean.

Whatever you do, don't kill the Kill The Goat.

Hugs & Kisses from a fellow Canadian, all the way from Helsingborg, Sweden.
X

well,,, get on with it.

Go get 'em, Baby!!!

I have all kinds of faith in you

Well the way I see it, the more negative comments you get, the better of a job you are doing

Happy blogging. I'm sure looking forward to reading more!

Hm? How's it going with the goat-bathing? Pedicure included?
I hope this finds you well, alive and kicking.

Attagirl - way to go Love Z xx

Dudette? Yer still with us?

I’m one of the presumably many anonymous readers of your blog. A while ago I happened upon your site and since that point I’ve checked in frequently, always enjoying your commentary and perspectives. Up until now, I’ve never commented but after reading your last post, I decided to respond.

I think that you, Jay, are very brave and always honest and true to your experiences. Your posts are so lush, sensual, connected and, because of this, quite rare. I admire your ability to frankly share yourself and feel that it would be a shame if you stopped contributing. Having said that, I will fully understand it if you choose to stop posting in light of the criticism and censoring that you’ve faced recently. It’s never easy to portray yourself honestly and openly and then to receive a response that is contrary to the intended spirit and soul of the post.

What you document is so personal and authentic – and that is precisely what makes it worth reading. It is my hope that you’ll continue to fearlessly document your journey despite or even because of the accompanying commentary. Your posts inspire people – to think, to respond, to smile, to empathize, to live vicariously through your bravery - and, in our increasingly isolated, anonymous and at times judgmental society, that is reason enough to render your efforts valuable. Thank you for being daring and spirited enough to share.

I'm so glad you're back, Jay! I adore your writing skills and I've missed my vicarious romps through your life.

When you don't try to please anyone is when you are most likely to do so. The world needs more goat knees.

I can't wait to read more.

Carm - thanks for coming out of the woodwork.

It's about friggin' time!

I'd send you chocolate banana penises (peni? That shit is really starting to bug me!) but apparently you can't do that.
