Because they'd rather co-opt the authority and legitimacy of the current Church, of course. It's the same reason you don't see liberals flocking to Canada after the last presidential election.
I discussed this yesterday and I have another post about this subject rattling around in my head this morning.
As a Catholic that believes in a strict adherence to Catholic Doctrine, I don't understand why some people choose to stay with a church that they so fundamentally disagree with. Maybe Daniel is right, they like the legitimacy and power that Roman Catholicism brings as long as they aren't forced to actually adhere to it's rules
