I got an 8.32 on the fog index - same level as you.
Well it was a battle to get the test to run. I was getting errors, but finally figured out it was my Amazon ads "Iframe" tags, so I temporarily removed them and ran my entire month of April.
Result: Gunning Fog Index 10.7 or Time, Newsweek. Hmm... yeah I like the results, but don't believe it for a second. If there is anything I don't have, it's journalistic talent.

We all hit this one today! I picked it up off of Althouse. Anyway I ran mine through and scored in grades six and nine.
BTW, we should be shooting for a lower grades not a higher grade. The lower the grade level the more people that can understand it.
Writing in our language is about simplicity and clarity.

True, but will they enjoy reading it? It is probably best to target your average reader, not the dumbest or least educated.
If your score is too low you may bore many of you more educated readers to tears, sending them elsewhere.
