I have always been skeptical of American Market Research and studies. Not the research itself, its conclusions.
Statistics can always be bent/twisted to show a picture that supports your thought process. And if reputed organizations start doing so, it would be a huge disservice to the public who would start ignoring the results of such studies.
I always ask the question 'who sponsored the study' before looking at the results. Typically the sponsor has a stake in conducting the survey/study and so they would like to ensure that the results favor their case.
I feel that everything is ok in moderation. As long as you exercise (cough, cough) and stay fit, there is nothing wrong with fat or carbs or anything else.
