Gravatar Although I understand where you are coming from, the main question that has not been answered is where was all this proof of these wmds before the war started? Also if Iraq's wmds scared us so badly, then how much more should or does North Korea's wmds scare us when they are openly testing them in their country (could it be because of the connection of the Arab world to the 9-11 attacks is why Iraq was singled out)? It is not to be ignored that there was a most disturbing concern while Saddam was in power of the threat of possible wmds finding their way to America, but there were measures set into place after the first Desert Storm that Saddam was supposed to be kept a very close eye on. When the "checks and balances" that were in place to stop Hussein from having these things that he should not have stop working then there definitely is cause for concern. However, if the Inspectors that did their job before the Iraq War started had actually found some hard evidence or if the British or American intelligence had found hard evidence either then the concerns that we feared would have become a reality and the claim of "fight them over there before we fight them over here" would have some validity to it. But as it stands that there was no evidence to even suggest that Iraq had wmds before the war, and even though these tapes are presented as evidence to the contrary, they have some flaws as well.
