Here's a little factoid for you, since I'd rather rely on logic:
Families earning less than $44,000 a year pay between 12% and 15% of their income for state and local taxes, while families earning over $254,000 pay just over 9% of their income for state and local taxes.
Why should folks earning less money pay more in taxes than folks who've been a lot more successful? Now I'm not saying the rich should pay more than their fair share; I just think they should pay their fair share. And really, that's the difference between your so-called "libs" and Conservatives. Conservatives are all about tax breaks for rich folks, at the expense of the rapidly shrinking middle class.

Hey Zach I will trade you tax bills sight unseen. I am sure you will love paying the amount I pay since it will make you feel your are giving your money away.

Nice try on the person making 45K pays more than the person making 250K I know for a fact a person making 250K will pay close to a combined 40% will not be given as many tax breaks or deductions due to means testing etc.
