Sweetie and I watched "V is for Vendetta" the other night. Timely.

When we turned it off, there on the news was Dear Leader, having a deep and meaningful relationship with his teleprompter, followed by a report on Spring Break... I'm not worried about the springbreakers. They have more alcohol in them than a bottle of hand sanitizer.

My question is, how did they know this thing was starting, out of the box like that? I'd think a virus would be affecting a whole lot of people before someone connected the dots and said, "Hey, we done got an epidemic 'round these parts."

I think the world is s**ting its collective pants because someone either accidentally, or malevolently, released some serious cooties, and the experts in the lab coats with the clip boards "think" this may be very, very bad.

I think we got very, very lucky with the 2005 bird flu and the 1975 pig flu. The same crap could've happened then, and it was pure dumb luck that it didn't result in a massive die-off.
