Yeah, I cried when his funeral was on TV.I don't know if he was the best president ever, but he was up there in my book.

No doubt - Reagan and George Washington have done more to guarranty the future of America than anyone.


I have nothing against Reagan.... Well aside from a couple of bad choices in neckties.


Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Reagan, but I'd take Teddy Roosevelt first (of course, after Washington).

Someone once said that Reagan would make up his mind about something, sit and listen while everyone else around him argued, then state his case and it was usually the best idea.

Every time that GWB opens the publics wallet for another spendfest, or promotes someone based on cronyism rather than qualities .... I miss Reagan even more.

To give credit where it is due: The beautiful lines "slipped the surly bonds of earth..." "to touch the face of God" come from a glorious little poem called "High Flight," written by John Gillespie McGee, Jr., who died serving as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force in WWII.

Two things made Reagan a great president: 1. He surrounded himself with cabinet members who knew what they were doing and mostly listened to them and then delivered his scripted material with the aplomb of an actor and 2. His wife pushed all his buttons.


Sorry, but as much as I love Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt will always have my vote first.

I was born during the second Reagan administration, and I consider myself proud to be what I call a "Reagan baby!"

I have studied this man and his work. God truly blessed America when he loaned us President Reagan. He stood for, and continues to stand as the epitome of the American way.

He passed the torch to us, and it will be my generation (I'm only 20 after all!) that hopefully will continue to light this great city on a hill.

But it should read "second Reagan term." "Second Reagan Administration" implies that more than one Reagan served.

I doubt there will ever be "another Reagan," however.

I knew it wasn't Reagan's words, that's why I put it in separate quotes, but it was still very moving for such a solomn occasion.

By, Sofa's reasoning, Reagan's appointment of Sandra Day O'Connor was "stupid." Yeah, putting a broad on the SCOTUS was idiotic.

No amount of stupid comments can ever take away Reagan's legacy, or our love and respect for him. He earned every bit of it! Great picture!


Well Gayle, while the verdict is still out on this one, I would feel confident in saying that the gold medal in the "stupid" event would have to go to the contestant that quotes Forrest Gump.
