We need to make sure that Iran never has any say over how this country (or any other for that matter) is run! There wouldn't be any women left alive here if they did because I don't know any one of my friends that would lay down and submit to that kind of treatment!

I completely believe that the president of Iran is going to be responsible for millions of deaths if he remains unchecked. At least Hitler hid his true intent until it was too late, this creature may be worse.
I am so glad to be an American! When I look at pictures of females from that part of the world, I often wonder what kind of horrors they've been exposed to. It is just too horrible to imagine having to live there!
I don't know of any of my hippy friends who agree with radical Islam. And that is why I will never travel to the middle east. I do think my islamic neighbors have a facinating culture and maybe they could teach us a few things. After all we are all worshiping the same god just in different ways

I am not a theologian but I do believe that Judaism, Islam and Christianity all come from the same philosophical root. And if you look at Buddhism and Hinduism they have some general similarities as well. Islam closely relates to Noah as well as Mohammad, Judaism with Abraham, Christianity with all of the above as well as Jesus. Seriously they are all related just practiced differently. John 14:2 “In my fathers house are many mansions” how many different ways can that be interpreted, and my just that possibly mean that there are many ways to serve god?
I agree with Gwen. I don't like Iran's president or their government, but saying all Muslims are like that is wrong. They are no more representative of all Muslims as the KKK is representative of all Christians. I am not comfortable with condemning all Islam just because some nut jobs in Iran claim to speak for all Muslims.

Okay, I re-read the post. I take ANYTHING that comes from the religion of peace website as Muslim bashing. They do have an axe to grind over there, so using them to bolster your position doesn't seem credible to me. Also, this post, coupled with the one about Muslims in France going around raping tends to give the impression that CUG also has an axe to grind with Muslims. So clarify: Do you have an axe to grind, or are you talking about a few knuckle draggers and not all Muslims. Whipping up hatred of people who are different is not what you want to do if you are a Christian, Jim. What would Jesus do?

I didn't accuse you of writing "I, CUG, condemn all Muslims". Do I dispute the number? Well how can I do that? I haven't the time to review everything on that site and refute it. How many Christians have carried out deadly attacks? If you look at the statistics, I'm sure a lot of Christians have murdered, raped, robbed, etc. in the last 4 1/2 years.
Sure, that's just a "crime", but if Muslims do it its a "terrorist attack". Look, I'm not PRO-terrorist, I am concerned that we are whipping up hatred against people who don't deserve it.
The Christians that commit crimes exist, for sure.
However, they are committing them because they are criminals, not in the name of Jesus (at least 99.9% of the time).
There is a common thread in the Islamofacist bombings, to deny that is folly. To see it is not racist, just pragmatic.

I do think that maybe people in the US are seeing a misconstrued connection between the grime stories on the news with their veiled neighbors. The comments display that:

There are a lot elsewhere as well. When the lines between our definition of Radical Philosophys and Mainstream blur it feeds hatred. Muslims are not evil, neither are Christians, Jews, Buddhists, or Agnostics. Radical Extremist Muslims, Jews, Christians can be evil.

Historically there are similar acts of violence in our history. Does that mean we are evil bastards. No it means that there were people occupying our country that infracted upon others civil rights.
We have to be really careful of where we put blame because with things this sensitive and close to our hearts. We already have enough bipartism, social unrest, and other –ism’s.

Also how do you explain that the KKK is now in it's third wave or the 1960's or the 200 years before that. What about hate crimes against the Gay and Lesbian community. Aren't those rooted in religious belief more specifically judeo-christian belifs. And women haven't even been able to vote, "no taxation with out representation" We have a grim past, but it's all apart of national growth

I was going to say that Women haven't even been able to vote for 100 years yet, neither have many blacks. Sure leagally they have been able to but there were a ton of obstacles in their place.
Voting is also one of the core issues in the construction of our government too.
