If you find out the cure for ejection probs on the HS, let me know. It seems to happen most often when a round fails to fire. I've made a number of small changes that have helped, but it seems that if you can get the round to fire, it ejects OK, so I have approached it mostly from that end as to ammo selection and other related stuff.

They look very nice, and only 1 bad round in 50 isn't bad if it was the first time reloading that style.
I reloaded some 16 gauge shells when I was about 17. first 5 fired great, second five great, third group 2 sounded weak, third didn't get the wad out of the barrell.
Figured out that was where we switched can's of powder, and had some bad stuff.

Jimmy, I am 6'4" weigh 330. What pistol would you suggest for a first time gun? I don't know if you needed all that size info, I just threw it in there just in case. Also I would like to find one that my wife could learn to shoot too. She grew up on a farm shooting a rifle but no pistol. any help would be nice.

Ssteve, if I may be so bold JimmyB, chicks often dig wheelguns more than semi-autos - something about them being more straightforward, without any bits that act on their own accord (slides wooshing back and forth etc.) and that being said, there's nothing in the least bit under-gunned about a .357 magnum (which is capable of firing .38 specials for practice, for economy, and to avoid Flinch).
You can't fire .357's in a .38 Special because the .38 cylinder is shorter and the .357 cartridge will stick out too far - but you can do it the other way around and lead to good practice habits.

I don't care if it's pretty, as long as it gets the job done. Have you tried the Colt 1991s? I've had the pleasure of shooting one of those twice in the last three months. It is a very nice handgun.
I honostly don't know much about guns except old WW2 ones but these seem pretty good. But then again I know enough to know Colt is a great gun company.
Please blog in more detail on the art of ammo loading if you have time. I would like to learn it in the future.
