GM and Ford may be on the right track to good fiscal health. They are cutting overhead and claim they are going to produce an automobile that will compete with the imports and try to get back in the main stream of automobile sales. I wish them the best.

I really don't think it is a good idea to blame Bush. Michigan's (and GM's problems are really not political, and politics just gets in the way.)

So shoprat... why is it that you blame the Gov. for Michigan's economy, but W. gets a pass. Maybe W. didn't make the mess the Ford & GM are in, but he could help. Why not tax breaks like the ones that the oil comanies are getting (at a time of gigantic profits) so when an industry is up against it is now time for tough love?

Uhmmm ... for the same reason that I blame BlankOh for the disaster that was New Orleans ..... the freeloaders in Michigan got together and gave us Gov. Jenny .... and that places HER in the catbird seat, not Bush.

Besides, why, oh why oh why, would you expect the President to do more for a blue state .... that's one that didn't help to elect him .... than for the other states? You want to blame GM and Ford on someone ... you have a huge amount to pick on: state politicians, the UAW, the management of the two companies, the 2 commie Senators that keep getting sent to Washington ... or you can just blame the fact that stuff happens and their gamble on the continuing support of the American public for huge gas guzzlers lost ...
