Enlighten Me! :)

indeed

Very well said.

Nicely done, Jimmyb.

I didn't know Sarah.
Yet amazingly, writing this is still very emotional.

I think what it is about this project, is that we have really made ourselves vulnerable and receptive to the pain and intensity of the loss. Every post I've read has been as rewarding as it has been anguishing. When we turn on the tv news, for the sake of our own sanity and mental health, our bodies have a way of desensitizing us from feeling the next drive-by shooting or the next murder as if it were our own flesh-and-blood. We "turn down" the volume on our ability to empathize with others.

But being a part of this Tribute Project, names and faces have become intimate stories of the history and life led by fellow Americans as well as citizens of the world who were our guests in this country.

Thanks for giving life to Sarah Khan's story. The 2996 are more than just a statistic.

Well done Jimmy, thank you.

oh,jimmy...ouch...but thank you! EVERYONE NEEDS to feel like this, all the time in this country! Now, more than ever...

very well done jimmy b

Well done, brother.

Thank you for a sweet tribute for a wonderful woman. God bles her husband and most especially God bless her children. We will not forget.

Each life is precious and we must never forget!!

What more could I possibly say, except thanks.

Participating in this tribute has brought a human face to the number 2996.

Well done, Jimmy, Well done.

I guess this day is a day that sucks us all in and does something to our inner hearts. It wounded us in a place we don't want to admit exists. Well, at least I don't. Thanks for the face and the name on it jimmyb. You are gold.

A friend of mine was angry yesterday that the 9/11 tragedy kept being mentioned and replayed on t.v. She doesn't want to remember, because her son was supposed to be at a meeting at the towers and could have been killed (but wasn't). It hurts her too much to remember how scared she was.

It seems to me we we very much need to remember how much we were hurting, how scared we were. Where else shall we find the staying power to support whatever it takes, for however long it takes, to stop terrorism? Our far-sighted enemies know we are wimps and lovers of comfort who won't hang in there. They counted on it in Korea, they counted on it in Viet Nam - and they were right.

Shall we show them something different this time?

Thank you, son , for showing the face and the life of one victim, and for caring. I love you!

Jimmyb:

There are photos of my grandparents and father at Jones Beach back in the 50's. I've always thought we should visit there. In reading through the tributes it's funny how we can pick out and try to identify with these lost souls. Thank you for a lovely and touching memorial for Sarah.

And I echo your sentiments as to how emotional this amazing project has been. Thank you again.

I remember Marion Britton.

I will never forget.

Thanks for that profile, Jimmy! I feel as though I know her better now.
