In my world, rapists and pedophiles would be afraid of my daughter. If I ever have one, she'll hate me for scaring off dates too. LOL

With my daughter laid up recovering from multiple fractures in her leg, running away from goblins is out of the question. I made her a pilot's-type neck holster that rides with Ruger in it just below her tits. When she wears a short serape, you can't tell she's armed, and the holster doesn't interfere with her use of crutches or wheelchair or walker.
The revolver is simple, and being an ex-Marine, she knows what to do with it.
Don't diss Glocks. They shoot well in the hands of persons trained in their use, but they don't tolerate limp-wristing as well as JMB's designs.
With the right combination of training and street combat smarts, a lengthy one-magazine gunfight is possible with a Glock, will require changes of magazines with a 1911. I own and carry both weapons, but my usual carry is a Ruger SP101 in .357 when wearing long pants, and a NAA Guardian in .32NAA (wildcat round) when in short pants.

Yo, Pistolero, that particular one is an oldie, in .38 SPL. She can easily handle the 140-gr Winchester Silvertips it's loaded with.
Mine is a newer one, in .357, and I have no trouble with the first 30 or so heavy loads, but after that, the hand gets tired of the pounding. Hard to imagine I'd ever shoot that many in a gunfight, though.
RD, my glock comment was more for sarcasm against GFW's shocked at the thought of a child owning a firearm.
I actually have.... more than one glock, and love them for their simplicity and functionality. (Even though they are kind of ugly... )
I like the sleek functionality of the glocks, but I love the look of Colt .45 revolvers. Those are sweet.
