you serious? not sure who ya have coming up but tolleson is definitely a top-15 prospect!

geez

I am really high on Tolleson. I think that this spring he will challenge Tolbert for the utility position with the Twins (and his bat is better than Tolbert's)

Joseph, he's 25 and although he's put up OK numbers before, 2008 was definitely his best year in the system. I like him, but I can't see him as a top 15 prospect. Plus, is there really that much difference in 6 spots?

Thrylos, I like him a lot too. I think he's an all around solid player. I don't know if he'll really be a big challenge for Tolbert as he hasn't played above AA, however if he has a great Spring, it's possible.

I he had not gotten hurt last year, he would have played in AAA to finish the season and would defintely been competing for a spot on the 25 man roster. I heard the he just has lasik eye surgery. I think that we have just begun to see what Tolly can do. I have seen him play many times and I believe that he will work his way into the starting line-up at either short or second. He has the potential to be much better than Punto and Tolbert. He is just as fast if not faster than both, hits for more power than both, steals more bases than both, and will continue to get better with time. If he is given a chance to make the team out of spring I believe he will.

I think that we have just begun to see what Tolly can do.

I sure hope so! I think he could certainly be better than both Tolbert & Punto, but being 25 and not having an AB above AA is certainly something that doesn't enthuse me. Injured or not.

It's the same reason why Matt Tolbert wasn't ranked highly (if at all) on many prospect lists prior to the 2007 season. Both are the same age (at the level of play...not actual birth dates), have OK power (albeit Tolleson has slightly more), both have solid gloves and good plate discipline. Yet, Tolbert wasn't really highly regarded until he was already playing in AAA (and was still nowhere near a top 25 prospect).

I admit that Tolleson is better, but I can't say he's that much better than Tolbert. At least, not yet.

I agree

the difference between Tolbert and Tolleson in my eyes, is that Tolbert's likely ceiling is our 5th infielder (#1 reserve for SS,2b and maybe 3b)

where as Tolleson's ceiling is probably a #4 or #3 infielder playing at either SS or 2b...

not that much of a difference really.

2B? Don't we have, like, 12 of those?

SS is the quickest path to MLB in the Twins organization.
Hmmm... maybe not now that Punto has been given that role.

If the Twins, as an organization, valued OBP as much as others, Tolleson might be considered a better prospect. I like him, but I don't know if he has the glove or the speed to be considered a real contender for a starting SS/2B job. How is he defensively?

Defensively, he is a stud. I played ball with Tolly since we were in T-ball all the way to HS. He was the only kid laying out for balls when we were 8 years old and he continues to impress. You guys can speculate all you want about him, but I can guaruntee you that he will surprise you in the long run.
