The big issue that looms on the horizon is what do you do when Cuddyer is ready to play? I suspect that is part of Gardenhire's reluctance to make this move. If Span keeps his OBP over .400, he is probably more valuable than Cuddyer. So he is going to have to make a choice between Kubel, Span, Cuddyer and Gomez. There isn't room in the everyday lineup for all four.
