Agreed

But Blalock is a lefty and Crede is perennially injured. And their numbers (offense and defense) do not provide much of an upgrade over a theoretical Buscher/Harris platoon. Kouz is about there with them (Atkins too).

If the Twins cannot get any of the big 4 (Glaus, Wiggington, Beltre, Rolen), they should look into Casey or even Melvin Mora (1-1 swap with Cuddy would do it). Anyone else would not be enough upgrade to justify the cost.

Trading Young would be close to insane and I do not know anyone other than Walters and Sid that pop those rumors out of nowhere...

One more thing: I wouldn't mind trading Young for Longoria or Wright. That's about it.

Blalock won't be an option. The Rangers have a team option on him for '09 and will soon pick it up according to their GM.

Agreed, Thylos. If the Twins can net a serious talent for Young, then by all means, but Kouzmanoff is not and will never be anything other than an average player.

And Twins Territory, you are correct. It sounds like the Rangers are going to be picking up his option for '09 with the hope of trading him. Also, if he is a Ranger next year, it sounds like it will be strictly at first base or DH.

And I meant "thrylos" - my mistake.

Yeah, it sounds like he will play first. I'd take him as a signing, but as a trade there are probably better options with his injuries.

Completely agree, especially since the Rangers have wanted a lot for him in the past. I just see them being a tough team to try and make a deal with, especially with their lack of strong pitching. They'd certainly want one of our starting pitchers and there's no way I'd do that.

Garrett Atkins is a lot better then Kouzmancoff and anyone in your big 4(Rolen, Glaus, Beltre, Wiggington.)
