I never knew about the old strips (or anyone who's that passionate about Popeye). Nor did I catch the "cervix" line--awesome.
The songs area always what killed the movie for me, though. I think you have to be pretty committed to sit through "He's Large."
Yeah the songs range from catchy to brutal. I think "He's Large" was meant to refer to more than Bluto's belly though.
The Sweethaven song sticks in my head for weeks after watching the movie.
